eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Valuable insights into key disputed topics from a veritable who's who of evangelical scholars In this volume thirty-seven first-rate evangelical scholars present a thorough study of biblical authority and a full range of issues connected to it. Recognizing that Scripture and its authority are now being both challenged and defended with renewed vigor, editor D. A. Carson assigned the topics that these select scholars address in the book. After an introduction by Carson to the many facets of the current discussion, the contributors present robust essays on relevant historical, biblical, theological, philosophical, epistemological, and comparative-religions topics. To conclude, Carson answers a number of frequently asked questions about the nature of Scripture, cross-referencing these FAQs to the preceding chapters. This comprehensive volume by a team of recognized experts will be the go-to reference on the nature and authority of the Bible for years to come. CONTRIBUTORS James Beilby Kirsten Birkett Henri A. G. Endure The Night

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Eve Marie Steele discovered the hard way that her marriage was in trouble-the other woman told her. On the most important night of her career, Eve learned her husband had been unfaithful, shattering her entire life into a million pieces. Peregrine Steele insisted that Eve's job as a Christian counselor had left him vulnerable, but a careless mistake couldn't destroy their marriage. He wanted his wife, he wanted his marriage and he was determined to fight for both. He convinced Eve to stand by him in his fight against a lawsuit as well. Perry was charged with sexual harassment. He vowed the woman had been the pursuer-which proved to be true when the woman began stalking Eve and Perry. Eve retreated to their home in St. Michaels, Maryland. The lovely old Victorian house was a haven-until the house was burglarized. Yet, finally, through the sleuthing skills of Eve's bible study class, a few body guards tossed in here and there, and the local law, Eve and Perry managed to endure the night. They discovered how much God loved them, and found joy in their love for each other-and their new baby.

BOOK EXCERPT:

THE EXPLOSIVE NEW YORK TIMES AND NATIONAL BESTSELLER Push beyond your physical limits to improve yourself by following bowhunter and ultramarathoner Cameron Hanes's lifelong philosophies and disciplines. “It’s all mental.” I say this all the time, and it’s true. If you believe you can do it, you can. We all have virtually limitless potential. Our bodies are capable of so much more than what we ask of them. Take off the mental handcuffs, get out there, and start on your way today. What is your passion? You can become better at it. Committing yourself to fitness only fuels your beliefs. You gotta believe to achieve. Cameron Hanes discovered his true passion for bowhunting when he was twenty. Inspired by the physical challenges of stalking elk in the Oregon wilderness—traversing mountainous terrain, braving erratic weather, and evading his quarry’s even more dangerous predators—he began an ever-evolving journey of self-improvement. To become the best bowhunter of wild elk, to the caliber he believed he could be, Cam realized he would need more than archery skills. He would need the stamina and strength that could only come from an athletic training regimen of long-distance running and heavy-weight lifting. And every day for more than thirty years, Cam has put in the work, building miles and muscles, pushing through pain with a single-minded focus on the only goal worth having—besting himself time and again. Part memoir, part motivational manifesto, Endure reveals how Cam—a self-professed average guy—put himself through the paces to live the life of an expert bowhunter, respected writer, and family man. With discipline, sacrifice, resilience, a hard work ethic, and a belief in his own capabilities, Cam not only accomplished his dreams but continues to surpass them. There is no secret to his success except relentless determination and loyal dedication to his own self-worth. If Cam can do it, we all can. Everyone has what it takes to endure adversity so we can rise above average, be the best we can be, and enjoy living life to the fullest.

Perhaps It S Love

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Perhaps it's Love, the original element, which gives this book its name, concerns four young adults that play a vital role to follow their hearts; sometimes without adequate preparation, or the appropriate equipment as a test of the will. This of course, nearly crushes each person's spirit. In one-way or another, each youth is linked to each other (ages between 18 and 21). The novel is primarily concerned with choices in love, in some cases a manifesto about its dangers. At the end it, it must be said, nothing was tolerable but the best. No one was without sin. Four youths [l96768], while being in the process of growth get stirred up quite a lot, some even lost in the commotion of events, while feelings become nourished and intensified, all aching for love, in their own way. A lesson might well be learned if they can only harness their crying hearts; but first unhappiness has to be conquered (part of the theme and plot). The story has a shy-charm to it, a quick gaiety, and objective tenderness. It is dramatic; it has an exploring inner mind. Many parts of this book are based on actual events, transformed into historical fiction.

How To Endure To The End

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

How to endure to the End deals with the necessary ingredients to help Christians endure through the storms of life. If you have ever thought if God would just tell me what I need to do I would do it, then this book is for you. God cant just tell people what to do like He did in the Old Testament because our beliefs, traditional teachings and our worldly brain actually keep us from hearing the truth. We no longer even recognize the works of the Holy Spirit or know how to seek interpretation to our dreams therefore hindering the communication between God and ourselves. This book is geared toward Christians who are seeking to grow in their faith. It is not directed to any particular denomination.
