I had never read the Bible before 'til that day I turned forty years old. We were going through some hard times, and I took our big, dusty Bible down from the mantel to see if I could find some answers there. And as I opened it up, the words jumped up off the pages and hung there in the air. He got a hold of me right then and there and then blessed me with the gift of verse that I might, in this way, bless his Holy Name. It's now been over forty years since that day, and this is book 9 of the poetry that he has blessed me to write. I am presently working on poem book number 10.
