The Journal of International Students (JIS) is a quarterly publication on international education. JIS is an academic, interdisciplinary, and peer-reviewed publication (Print ISSN 2162-3104 & Online ISSN 2166-3750) indexed in major academic databases. The journal publishes scholarly peer-reviewed articles on international students in tertiary education, secondary education, and other educational settings that make significant contributions to research, policy, and practice in the internationalization of education worldwide. We encourage the submission of manuscripts from researchers and practitioners around the world from a myriad of academic fields and theoretical perspectives, including international education, comparative education, human geography, global studies, linguistics, psychology, sociology, communication, international business, economics, social work, cultural studies, and other related disciplines.

The Research Probe (TRP) is a proceedings publication of institutional conferences and research competitions. It focuses on four broad themes: education and development studies; humanities and social sciences; science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and business, management and accounting. This publication provides a platform for experts and practitioners from various fields in the dissemination of their research works that address industry trends and needs, scientific findings and international concerns. Both the institutional conferences and proceedings publication promote a wider horizon for researchers through open-access paradigm. TRP publishes articles employing any of the various research methods and strategies. It accepts any specific topic within these broad subjects. It also encourages interdisciplinary articles that broadly discuss key topics relevant to the core scope of the journal.

The gap between the abundance of American higher education talent and the immense foreign demand for it is the great chasm in global education. It is a gulf of lost opportunities. It is also a space of great economic potential. This book describes the great chasm, examines factors underlying it, and suggests ways to bridge the gap to realize this potential. The abundance of talent stems from the slackening growth of the U.S. higher education sector in the New Millennium. Contributing to the slowdown are flat enrollments, adverse demographic trends, U.S. visa restrictions, and intensifying competition. The immense foreign demand has been fueled by the secular expansion of the global economy. It has been shaped by the pressing need in emerging markets to develop an educated workforce. The great chasm creates an opportunity for American academic institutions to extend their global reach. Bridging the gap, however, is not an easy feat for most U.S. colleges and universities. It is complicated by an institutional culture that is averse to commercialization, an organizational structure that is operationally slow, and a governance system that often leads to indecision, conflict, and paralysis. Bridging the gap requires fundamental changes in the culture, organization, and governance of traditional U.S. academic institutions. These changes will pave the way for international expansion, which could enhance the financial well-being of these institutions, the social-well-being of less developed nations, and the critical role that America plays globally in knowledge creation, the dissemination of ideas, and the pursuit of the truth.

This is the second book in the 'Health, Functioning and Technology' series. The focus of this book is on teaching, learning and assessment in rehabilitation education within the African context. The primary contributors to the book are authors from occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech-language therapy in South Africa. The authors discuss local contextual drivers for renewing rehabilitation professions curricula that support graduates in becoming competent, socially accountable, and dynamic. The foundational element of the chapters in the book is the African context and evidence-informed educational practice. We include the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on teaching, learning, student support and the integration of technology to assist in achieving the goals of the curricula. Transnational composition is a site for engaging with difference across populations, economies, languages, and borders and for asking how cultures, languages, and national imaginaries interanimate one another. Organized in three parts, the book addresses the transnational in composition in scholarship, teaching, and administration. It brings together contributions from institutional, geopolitical, and cultural contexts ranging across North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Caribbean and covers writing in English, Chinese, multiple European languages, Latin American Spanish, African and West Indian Creoles, and Guianan French. Exploring the relationship among transnational, international, global, and translingual approaches to composition--while complicating the term composition itself--essays draw on theories of border work, mobility, liminality, cross-border interaction, center-periphery contours, superdiversity, and transnational rhetoric and address, among other topics, models of cognitive processing, principles of universal design, and frames of critical literacy awareness.

This is an open access book. Still related to the big theme of reinforcement the SDG’s at the previous conference, we try to invite academics and researchers in the world to participate in the 3rd Borobudur International Symposium 2021 (3rd BIS 2021). As we know, The COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on all 17 SDGs have demonstrated that what began as a health catastrophe swiftly transformed into a human and socioeconomic crisis. In September 2019, the UN Secretary-General urged all sectors of society to mobilize for a decade of action on three fronts: global action to ensure increased leadership, increased resources, and smarter solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals; local action to embed the necessary transitions into governments’ policies, budgets, institutions, and regulatory frameworks; and international action to ensure greater leadership, increased resources, and smarter solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals. Especially in 3rd BIS 2021, we brought up “Decade of Action towards Environmental Issues: Advancing the Innovation to Recover our Planet” as main theme.
