Do you feel stuck? Unsure of how to get your life on track? You are not alone! With all the current social challenges facing individuals today, it isn’t unusual to feel stuck. We long to move toward health, freedom, and life, but we are unsure how to get there. This new edition of Dr. Trent’s popular book LifeMapping sees him joined by his daughter, Kari Trent Stageberg. Together they provide an effective method to help everyday people learn to navigate the many detours and distractions impacting their careers, families, and ministries so that they can build a more positive life plan for the future. LifeMapping® is a powerful tool developed by Dr. John Trent that teaches people a creative device called “storyboarding.” It helps us gather key pictures and events of our own life stories. Utilizing the biblical truth that Jesus can and does change our pictures and bring us new capacities, it helps us lay out a map toward an even more positive future. Specifically, you’ll learn how tocreate a clear path to close relationships;turn many pieces into masterpieces;recognize your strengths, successes, and acceptance levels as well as your emotional freeze points and your individual flash points;live authentically instead of constantly worrying about your image;storyboard your positive life plan;practice learned hopefulness; and much more!

BOOK EXCERPT:
Children have been a part of the cinematic landscape since the silent film era, yet children are rarely a part of the theoretical landscape of film analysis. Lost and Othered Children in Contemporary Cinema, edited by Debbie C. Olson and Andrew Scahill, seeks to remedy that oversight. Throughout the over one-hundred year history of cinema, the image of the child has been inextricably bound to filmic storytelling and has been equally bound to notions of romantic innocence and purity. This collection reveals, however, that there is a body of work that provides a counter note of darkness to the traditional portraits of sweetness and light. Particularly since the mid-twentieth century, there are a growing number of cinematic works that depict childhood has as a site of knowingness, despair, sexuality, death, and madness. Lost and Othered Children in Contemporary Cinema challenges notions of the innocent child through an exploration of the dark side of childhood in contemporary cinema. The contributors to this multidisciplinary study offer a global perspective that explores the multiple conditions of marginalized childhood as cinematically imagined within political, geographical, sociological, and cultural contexts.

BOOK EXCERPT:
Dr. Donald Aultman brings together in one volume leaders from the Church of God to reveal the Faith of Our Mothers - stories of faithful women who valued, nourished, and trained their children, sometimes against all odds. These are women of virtue and godly character whose faith, patience, sacrifice, and humor forever shaped the sons and daughters now walking in their footsteps. In a culture where Christianity is increasingly marginalized and children are pulled away from faith...in a world that's cold, raw, and harsh...in a society built on high achievement, self-serving goals, and shortsighted pursuits...may God continue to raise up women of faith who will minister the Word of God, love their families, and show us the way home. -Mark L. Williams Church of God Overseer
