Jenny was nearly two years old when David met her, and it was a perfect match between a dog who just wanted out of her prison and a guy looking for someone with whom he could share bad jokes and make listen to his sermons before he delivered them to the church. She could handle some bad humor and some boring sermons if she could just be allowed to love some people and be free. After all, loving people was what she did best. And being free is what everyone wants. Having come from a pretty difficult beginning, Jenny had some issues. She was fearful and aggressive toward other dogs, but even with her issues, she showed an incredible love toward every human she met as well as an unquenchable joy that was always present. Come experience the relationship between a man and his dog, and discover how God is interpreted in the actions of this wonderful and amazing animal by a guy who sees God in every living thing. If you are enduring some difficulty right now, this book may help you out of your pain. You may just discover that what you have really found is a renewed relationship with the King of kings that will give you a new perspective on life and those with whom we share the planet.

When a pet dog injures a human or another dog, the owner is left in a state of fear and confusion. If a dog wreaks havoc and destruction on a home, the owner is left feeling helpless. If an owner finds a dog uncontrollable, or if a dog becomes aggressive and a threat to the community, the dog becomes the one that is at risk for injury or death. Families living with these behaviorally challenged dogs may become isolated and wonder if there is help for their dog. The reality is there are thousands of families facing these issues. This book explains the process for helping dogs with behavior problems in plain language. Calling on her years of experience as a certified canine behavior consultant, the author highlights the journeys of past clients through a series of vignettes broken up by chapters that contain informative and researched guidance. While it is not meant to be a how-to training guide, the book lets people with reactive or anxious dogs know they are not alone. And for those that lose the battle, it walks with them through that final journey.

Relationship and trust. A dog is a dog. At this point I would like to start with what most people are not prepared to accept: we are dealing with a dog and not with the replacement of a partner, family member or even stuffed animal. Unfortunately, I often find that a dog is bought for a child, but this child is understandably unable to cope with the upcoming responsibility. Problems are thus inevitable. If we are willing to deal with the origin of the dog to start with in the first step, we will approach the dog with a corresponding appreciation and more respect, which we should also show the dog. The most important thing we should be willing to accept is the fact that we are dealing with an animal. An animal capable of self-acting and thinking, which is intelligent, has its own character and differs from others, not only in species or breed. At the same time, we should have the willingness to accept that there are many deep-rooted dispositions and that the innate social structure may not be underestimated. But whether in a pack or a social community (group), they are all looking for guidance and therefore for someone who is not only able to provide food, but at the same time can protect their social structure and lead them competently through life. The moment we become too fixated on loving, cuddling, overwhelming, or even humanizing our dog, this can cause problems.
