BOOK EXCERPT:

In a distant galaxy, Paul the Astronaut peers into his Golden Telescope, focuses the lens, and finally sees the perfect audience for his story. Moments later, his purple book soars through Earths night sky toward the home of a little girl who cannot sleep. After she hears a thud outside her window, Susie finds the book with a glowing golden star on the cover, turns the pages, and becomes immersed in the story about a boy from the moon. At the bottom of the crater where a shooting star crashes, a Star Child is born on an old, desolate moon. Star grows up learning lessons from the Moon and dreaming of living on the blue planet, Esperanza, which his moon orbits. Despite the Moons objections, Star soon discovers he has little interest in anything beyond Esperanza. When his desires to walk in the green grass, feel the suns warm rays, and run in the yellow sand become so strong he cannot ignore them, Star risks everything to follow his heart and chase his dreams. In this story for children, a boy from the moon learns that nothing is more important than living fully and as powerful as true love.

Star Children

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

"While working on this book the following happened to me: As I checked in at the airport in Hamburg a young couple was in front of me, and the mother had a three-to-four-month old baby in her arms. All of a sudden, the baby turned round, looked me straight in the eye, and I was deeply shaken; for that was not the look of a baby but of a very self-aware adult, a wise one, and he appeared to see right through me" (Georg Kühlewind). Who are the star children? In recent years, much has been written about "gifted" children with special abilities, sometimes called "indigo children" or "crystal children." It is said that these children are coming to earth to help humanity in its development. Based on extensive research, Georg Kühlewind confirms that this new generation has been incarnating among us for the past couple of decades. This event, he states, is one of the most important of our age. Unlike many other contributors to this discussion, Kühlewind gives us the necessary background to follow experientially what he has to say. He takes us consciously and scientifically into the realm from which we all enter the world as babies, "trailing clouds of glory." We all possess the tools he describes for taking this path: our thoughts, our heart forces, and our willpower. By using these faculties with full attention--by focusing our attentiveness and eliminating everything else--we can enter the realm of the spirit where the prevailing laws are different from those on Earth. The author helps us by closing each chapter with themes for contemplation and meditation. Star Children is a compelling addition to the literature on the theme of "special children," offering a unique perspective based on Spiritual Science and research.

The Importance Of Being A Reader A Revision Of Oscar Wilde S Works

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

This book explores Wilde's works from the hypothesis that they call upon the active participation of the reader in the production of meaning. It has a twofold objective: first, it shows that Wilde's emphasis on the creative role of the audience in his critical writings makes him conceive the reader as a co-creator in the construction of meaning. Second, it analyses the strategies which Wilde employs to impel the reader to collaborate in the creation of meaning of his literary works and casts light upon the social criticism derived from these. The examination of Wilde’s writings reveals how he gradually combined more sophisticated techniques that encouraged the reader's dynamic role with the progressive exploitation of self-advertising strategies for professional purposes. These allowed the ‘commercial’ Oscar to make his works successful among the Victorian public without betraying the ‘literary’ Wilde’s aesthetic principles. The present study re-evaluates Wilde as a critic and as a writer. It demonstrates that, while Wilde the ‘myth’ was ahead of his time in many ways, Wilde the ‘ARTIST’ anticipated in his aesthetic theory various themes which occupy contemporary literary theoreticians. Thus, it may contribute to give him the status he rightly deserves in the history of literature.
