Transforming data from operational data models to purpose-oriented data structures has been commonplace for the last decades. Data transformations are heavily used in all types of industries to provide information to various users at different levels. Depending on individual needs, the transformed data is stored in various different systems. DB2® 10 for z/OS can reduce the total DB2 CPU demand from 5-20%, compared to DB2 9, when you take advantage of all the enhancements. Many CPU reductions are built in directly to DB2, requiring no application changes.
