BOOK EXCERPT:
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Book Preview: #1 The Solution in the Adult Children of Alcoholics program is to become your own loving parent. However, until 2021, the program didn’t have a workbook focused on reparenting. This book was created to fill that need. #2 The process of becoming your own loving parent is a journey that will take time and require you to overcome some resistance, but it is ultimately liberating. You will learn how to recognize, allow, and feel your feelings, as well as honor your needs. #3 The exercises and guidance in this book will help you put your innate qualities of love, compassion, and kindness into action. You will need support from others, and you may need to try things out and make adjustments as you go. #4 Reparenting can be difficult. As we come to believe that our inner loving parent loves us unconditionally and that we’re supported by a higher power of our understanding, we begin to break the Don’t Talk, Don’t Trust, Don’t Feel rule of family dysfunction.

BOOK EXCERPT:
Should you feed your baby whenever she wants or put her on a schedule? Do you impose consequences on children who don't do their homework or clean up their room, or do you help them with chores and homework? Should you respond to the difficult adolescent with tender love or tough love? Parents are faced every day with a multitude of decisions, and they worry about making the right choices. The Smart Love Parent offers a breakthrough method to parenting created and tested by the husband-and-wife team of Dr. Martha Heineman Pieper and Dr. William J. Pieper. The Piepers offer a new understanding of the entire sweep of child development, allowing you to view the process of growing up through your child's eyes. Their patient and caring approach avoids the extremes of permissiveness and of the old reward-and-punishment style of parenting that turns parents into disciplinarians. By offering a relaxed and realistic timetable for your child's development, they identify some previously unrecognized developmental milestones and show you how to help your child reach them through guiding, not punishing. If you understand your child's point of view, you can better know how to love her and how to respond to her actions. The Smart Love Parent helps parents cultivate a child's inner happiness, which is the best means of ensuring your child will grow up well behaved, responsible, self-confident, and able to reach his or her fullest potential. BOOK EXCERPT:
Many years passed since the idea to write a book teaching English to kids and parents came to my mind and now I want to share it with you. I started my career as a teacher at school, teaching English to children in a secondary school and found out, that it was too late to start teaching a foreign language to the kids of age 11-12 years old. The linguistic ability to grasp languages at this age was declining and we, as teachers, were simply wasting our efforts: it was hard for the children to master a new language and it was hard for the teacher to make them learn it.The learning process became painful and in most cases unsuccessful. The natural way out of this precarious situation was to start teaching English as early as possible, when kids can start learning with no effort, when new words are remembered in no time and speech in a foreign language comes as easy as the mother language. So I started experimenting with the kid’s age at which learning a foreign language can be done most easy and in a favorable way. My approach was different from just developing the bilingual kids. When developing a bilingual child one should speak with a child in both languages. Usually two parents can do this effortlessly by speaking with a child in two languages simultaneously and then a child can speak both languages. But who in my country at this time, the former USSR, could speak English at home to a child?
