This bibliography contains careful and bias-free annotations of close to 3,500 works written over many centuries about the end of the world, predominantly but not entirely from a Christian perspective. The books, pamphlets, websites, and selected other media cover a wide variety of eschatological beliefs--from the numerous fundamentalist scenarios to the mystical and the violent--and include such topics as the Tribulation, the Rapture, the Millennium, Armageddon, the Second Coming, the Antichrist, and the Apocalypse. Works on other major religions (such as Judaism, Islam), the mythos of popular cultures (Mayan prophecies, Norse Ragnarok), UFO, occult and psychic theories (Heaven's Gate, Nostradamus), and secular theories (Y2k+ computer chaos) can be found. The work is in four parts (plus indexes). Entries in the pre-1800 part are arranged chronologically beginning with the Books of Enoch in the second century BC. Other entries are arranged alphabetically within the three chronological subdivisions of 1800-1910, 1910-1970, and post-1970. All include full bibliographic information and annotations regarding format, type of work, theme, the author's background, the category of theories espoused, distinctive or notable characteristics, the intended readership, and the significance of the work. There are cross-references to works by the same author. An introduction describes major types of beliefs, outlines basic Fundamentalist end-of-the-world scenarios, summarizes Biblical sources, and explains important terms, concepts and relationships among sources. The work is extensively indexed by author, title, and subject.

The Book of Daniel is the Old Testament bookend of prophecy, and the Book of Revelation is the New Testament bookend of prophecy. Daniel was a remarkable person who was never rebuked or criticized by God. He was called a man who was greatly loved (Daniel 10:11). He fasted and prayed to God after almost 70 years in Babylonian captivity to show him what would become of his people. God's response was recorded in Daniel 7-12. In a series of panoramic, prophetic revelations Daniel was told how the Israel and the Jews would be persecuted, conquered, and scattered over a period of over 600 years by Medo-Persia, Greece and then the Roman Empire. In Daniel 9:22-27 and Daniel 10-12, the most comprehensive and important prophecies in the Old Testament were given to Daniel. The crown jewel of these prophecies is Daniel 9:23-27, which is commonly called the 70 week prophecy of Daniel. This prophecy predicted when Christ would begin His 3.5 year ministry of reconciliation, when He would suffer and die, and the eventual 2nd coming of Christ at the end of the Great Tribulation described in the Book of Revelation. This book is a comprehensive examination of the Daniel 70 week prophecy and a verse-by verse explanation. It will be shown that this prophecy will frame and allow a timeline to be built which will illustrate major events in the last 3.5 years of the Church age. The book of Daniel records major prophecies that will be fulfilled during the time of the book of the Revelation. One such prophecy is given in Daniel 2:44, which foretells the establishment of God’s kingdom of heaven brought down to earth. This event can be studied in Revelation 19:11–20:6. Another of these prophecies is found in Daniel 7:24–25, and its fulfillment is recorded in Revelation 13:1–3. This prophecy speaks of the Roman Empire coming to life again during the tribulation period and, indeed, has already been formed under the name of the European Union. Because of this special relationship between Revelation and Daniel, I have put together the two books in this particular format to expedite and simplify its study.

In 1987, when Ed joined a new church, the pastor was teaching on the book of Revelation. Ed so enjoyed the teaching that he decided to read what others had to say about Revelation. He quickly learned that there were many different interpretations of Revelation and other books of the Bible that contained prophecy about the end times or latter days. He decided that he needed to do more reading and study of scripture, as well as books written by others, so he could come to his own understanding of what God was telling us about how He would bring things to an end. After much reading and prayer, his focus narrowed primarily to the books of Daniel and Revelation. The book of Daniel is about Israel in the time before Christ. The prophecy in Daniel begins with the Babylonian kingdom and continues through the Roman kingdom in such detail and accuracy that many believe it was written much later and is more historical than prophetic. It also tells us about the later kingdoms but in a much broader sense and less detail. The book of Revelation, written by John on the island of Patmos, tells us about the kingdoms that come after the Roman kingdom. Revelation tells us in great detail about Christ's message to the seven churches and the seventieth week of Daniel's prophecy of seventy weeks of years. This includes the breaking of the seven seals, the blowing of the seven trumpets, and the pouring out of the seven bowl judgments. Lastly it tells us the good news about the return of Christ and the establishment of His kingdom.
