Infectious diseases are caused by bacteria, fungus, viruses, and other microorganisms. Biomolecules such as proteins, DNA, and/or RNA play a crucial role in the infections of these disorders. These infectious illnesses are often transmissible, meaning they may be passed from one person to another by a variety of means. Even though medical technology has progressed, some illnesses continue to cause anxiety among individuals worldwide. If we examine the situation of COVID-19, the entire world is terrified of the pandemic. Similarly, In the last decades, other infections including Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika, Ebola, Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV), influenza, the common cold, tuberculosis (TB), Hepatitis A and B and human immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV) have also challenged the human population.

Soon after the first description of monoclonal antibodies in 1976, there was enormous interest in the clinical application of antibodies, especially in the context of cancer. Antibodies appeared to offer the “magic bullet” that would allow the specific destruction of neoplastic cells. H- ever, many years’ effort resulted in very few cases of successful immu- therapy with antibodies. As a result there was a major backlash against antibody therapy, and the field lost a considerable amount of popularity. Fashion, in science as well as in other things, tends to be cyclical. Antibody-based therapy is once again attracting scientists and clinicians. There are several reasons for the renewed optimism; certainly the expe- ence of the last two decades has provided a wealth of information about problems associated with antibody therapy, and possible solutions to these problems. Recombinant antibody engineering has rejuvenated the field, allowing both the modification of antibodies to improve their in vivo pr- erties and the isolation of novel antibody molecules by such techniques as phage display. The results of recent clinical trials have demonstrated unequivocally the benefit of antibody therapy in a number of settings, and, finally, more careful consideration has been taken of the types of disease best treated using this approach.

Recently, nanoparticles have shown efficacy against antimicrobial activity, including several microorganisms and those that are multidrug-resistant. Nanosensors represent an advance in the diagnosis of infectious diseases, particularly those with zoonotic risk. Different strategies using nanoparticles have been examined for both diagnosis and treatment of these diseases, as well as prevention. The optimization of detection methods and antimicrobial activity is a challenge in microbiology. Advances using nanotechnology are an emerging alternative to solve some problems in the diagnosis and therapy of veterinary infectious diseases. There are implications for the application of nanoparticles to shape interactions with the microorganism itself, as well as influence the bioavailability, biocompatibility, and biodegradation of the system with low host toxicity. The time of detection and its ability to target pathogens can be improved with nanotechnology.
