Chronic anxiety is essentially a build up of emotion that gets ‘stuck’ in our neurology. It might help to think of emotions being like water running through a hose. It just flows through until its gone. But when we get a kink in the hose, the pressure builds up and the flow reduces. Likewise, with anxiety, the flow of our usual emotion is reduced and all we can feel is the tension building up.
