The fifth book in a sweeping historical romance series set in Cornwall, perfect for fans of Bridgerton Cornwall, 1798. Eighteen months have passed since Midshipman Edmund Melville was declared missing, presumed dead, and Amelia Carew has mended her heart and fallen in love with a young physician, Luke Bohenna. In a state of shock, devastated that she now loves Luke so passionately, she is torn between the two. When Edmund returns, it is clear that his time away has changed him - he wears scars both mental and physical. Amelia, however, is determined to nurse him back to health and honour his heroic actions in the Navy by renouncing Luke. But soon, Amelia begins to question what really happened to Edmund while he was missing. As the threads of truth slip through her fingers, she doesn't know who to turn to: Edmund, or Luke?

BOOK EXCERPT:
In the best of times and in darker days, the strong family unit is one of the most valuable building blocks of our societies. The Cornish family, in its individuality, in its far-flung breadth and with its sense of worldwide community, is a vigorous example of this truth. In this magnificent book, Dr Bernard Deacon explores who we are, our forefathers and our descendants, where we come from and where we are headed and how these major themes are expressed in the meaning of our names.

BOOK EXCERPT:
Matthew’s personal calling is chronicled in each of three synoptic gospels. Luke calls him “Levi the tax-gatherer,” Mark refers to him as “Levi, the son of Alphaeus,” and Matthew names himself as Matthew but further identifies himself as “the tax collector.” In Matthew, author Dennis Cornish offers a commentary on the gospel of Matthew. These verses are followed by applicable commentary which combines studied research, including a lifetime of personal study and devotion as well as referenced and cited discussion from various authors ranging from early church fathers to recognized contemporary theologians. Where applicable, Cornish cross references both Old and New Testament verses to enhance the understanding, as well as to incorporate the whole counsel of God’s word. He also includes supporting information from extra Biblical sources such as Strong’s Lexicon, the Westminster Theological Dictionary, ancient Jewish historians, the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Westminster Confession of Faith, and many more such creeds and confessions. Cornish uses the truths found in scripture, and in this case in the book of Matthew, to offer insight into the life and times of Jesus as it was chronicled by Matthew who was an eyewitness to the events that took place surrounding Jesus during his earthly ministry.
