Song of Songs is a great book to understand God’s love but many people have difficulty in understanding it. Some people feel it shouldn’t be in the Bible. If you read it without understanding it, you will consider it not more than a worldly literature. But this book is much deeper than many people think it is. This book doesn’t only talk about the love of God, it also talks about worship, spiritual warfare, prayer, second coming of Christ, crucifixion of Jesus, power in the blood of Christ, spiritual gifts and much more. The interpretation/ commentary I have written explains the “Song of Songs” in depth. You will find a pleasant relationship between the symbolism used in the form of different trees, flowers, vegetation, animals, places, and the church. While writing this book, I had been praying that I may write whatever the Spirit of God wants me to write. So I believe this book is full of revelations given by the Holy Spirit. You will find a new dimension to look at things. While reading, you will not only understand the verses of Song of Songs, but you will also gain the understanding of many other related scriptures in the Bible. Marie Sandvik loved to preach, even as a child in Norway where she preached to sheep and imaginary people. In 1919, at the age of seventeen, she came to America to get an education, and worked her way through high school, college, and seminary. Her struggle against extreme poverty created in her a compassionate heart, and she vowed that someday she would help those who were penniless as she had been. In 1940, she converted a vacant skid row bar into a mission, moved in behind it, and ran it to help the poor, the homeless, and the hungry, and to bring God's word and love to them all. Four years later Marie was joined by Doris Nye, a young college graduate who was skilled in music and business administration. As a child, Doris daydreamed about growing up to help the poor. She learned compassion for those who were less fortunate as she accompanied her two aunts, who were medical doctors, on their rounds. Doris planned to become a missionary after she graduated from college, but circumstances put her in touch with Marie at the skid row mission. Doris quickly discovered that her calling was to work with Marie. The two women stayed together for the rest of Marie's life, and their work eventually received national acclaim.

Christ Church cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in a catholic country. Musical and archival sources (the most extensive for any Irish cathedral) provide a unique perspective on the history of music in Ireland. Christ Church has had a complex and varied history as the cathedral church of Dublin, one of two Anglican cathedrals in the capital of a predominantly Catholic country and the church of the British administration in Ireland before1922. An Irish cathedral within the English tradition, yet through much of its history it was essentially an English cathedral in a foreign land. With close musical links to cathedrals in England, to St Patrick's cathedral in Dublin, and to the city's wider political and cultural life, Christ Church has the longest documented music history of any Irish institution, providing a unique perspective on the history of music in Ireland. Barra Boydell, a leading authority on Irish music history, has written a detailed study drawing on the most extensive musical and archival sources existing for any Irish cathedral. The choir, its composers and musicians, repertoire and organs are discussed within the wider context of city and state, and of the religious and political dynamics which have shaped Anglo-Irish relationships since medieval times. Over the years, people have commented, "Why don't you write about your life?" To write a chronological autobiography never appealed to me. Thus, I abandoned the idea until about five years ago when having morning tea with my Byzantium scholar-friend in Sydney. We were discussing some aspect of Classical Roman history when the subject of genius loci (spirit of the place) entered our conversation. On the bus back to my flat in Lane Cove, this idea kept niggling at me. Perhaps, I could write about the places (loci) in which I have lived and the effect of these on my Christian journey, firstly as a child, then as a student, wife, mother, educator, writer, and an admirer of all that is beautiful, as expressed in most music, worship in the Eastern and some Western traditions, literature, painting, people, and the natural world. The result is this book, beginning in a small country town, Cowra, some three hundred kilometres south-west of Sydney, Australia, then to a smaller island, Great Britain, where I lived mainly in Oxford and ending on yet a smaller island in Puget Sound, Whidbey, close to the Canadian border. As well as being influenced by various places, so by people. These include Fr. John Hope of Christ Church St. Laurence, Sydney as a teenager and the Lady Margaret Professor in Oxford, Dr. Rowan Williams when I first arrived in this University City. Perhaps the person who influenced me mostly was not one I actually met in person but came to know through my research. He is the divine Lancelot Andrewes who has been part of my life for more years than I can remember and whose sermons and devotions are embedded in my being. In later years, I have been grateful to the renowned biblical scholar, Fr. Raymond Brown who gave me a fresh and scholarly understanding of the New Testament. Last but not least, has been the Franciscan, Fr. Richard Rohr who has taught me the necessity of non-dualistic consciousness for spiritual growth. As much as places and people have helped to shape me, none has more than the Potter and Pantocrator who has moulded and reshaped this lump of clay constantly in my Christian journey.
