All People, All Times: Rethinking Biblical Authority in Churches of Christ explores the assumptions traditionally held in a cappella Churches of Christ regarding how one knows what in Scripture is binding on all people at all times. The development of the tripartite model for determining Bible authority (i.e., command, example and implication) is examined and critiqued. While many in Churches of Christ advocate abandoning the model altogether, others refuse to see its limitations in a postmodern culture. All People, All Times offers a hermeneutical approach (The Transformational Restoration Hermeneutic or TRH) that sharpens the tripartite method by providing a biblically based grid to more accurately discern Scripture's emphases. As well, it introduces a sorely needed means for the formational use of Scripture. In short, the TRH recognizes not only the need to take Scripture seriously when it speaks authoritatively regarding external or doctrinal necessities, but also when it speaks to the spiritual, moral and relational priorities stressed in our postmodern era. It is hoped the TRH can provide a hermeneutical bridge between the widening streams of a fellowship historically devoted to speaking where the Bible speaks. An important feature of Ghanaian tertiary education is the foundational African Studies Programme which was initiated in the early 1960s. Unfortunately hardly any readers exist which bring together a body of knowledge on the themes, issues and debates which inform and animate research and teaching in African Studies particularly on the African continent. This becomes even more important when we consider the need for knowledge on Africa that is not Eurocentric or sensationalised, but driven from internal understandings of life and prospects in Africa. Dominant representations and perceptions of Africa usually depict a continent in crisis. Rather than buying into external representations of Africa, with its 'lacks' and aspirations for Western modernities, we insist that African scholars in particular should be in the forefront of promoting understanding of the pluri-lingual, overlapping, and dense reality of life and developments on the continent, to produce relevant and usable knowledge. Continuing and renewed interest in Africa's resources, including the land mass, economy, minerals, visual arts and performance cultures, as well as bio-medical knowledge and products, by old and new geopolitical players, obliges African scholars to transcend disciplinary boundaries and to work with each other to advance knowledge and uses of those resources in the interests of Africa's people.

Human nature holds the intelligence of life. It provides a psychology that is much stronger, more effective and more reliable than the psychology society teaches us. This psychology taps into the evolutionary survival experience of our species, which occupied most of human history. It was the period when the species evolved and our ancestor survived as a hunter and gatherer. More than 99% of human history is encoded in the DNA of our genes and lastingly etched into the human psyche. Our natural psychology, the human psyche, is the result of evolutionary adaptation. The psyche provides the genetic capacity for behavioral, mental and spiritual adaptation. It supports the gratification of our needs. And it contains the blueprint of human life. The book is about human nature and human survival. Human nature, that is, the human psyche, has survival value. The book introduces a metapsychology that refers to the Jungian archetypes and the survival capabilities inherent in the psyche. Like all living organisms and forms of life, we possess an innate capacity for survival. This innate psychology transcends the cultural conditioning that has shaped us all and erects an entirely different reference system making us look at life in a new way. Our psychological constitution relates us to the outer realities of nature and cosmos. It is in this sense that we partake in the evolution of life on this planet and in the larger design of a cosmic universe. This primary psyche is shared by all humanity as part of a common biological and psychological history.

So, it is good, brethren, for us to put aside pride and acquire humility, so that we may not hear: “every one that exalteth himself shall be abased;” but: “he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” ( Luke 18:14 ). At the same time, it is good to be strengthened in temperance and moderation, so that the greed of the heart does not drive away the truth from itself and then hear: "For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare." ( Jer. 13:22 ). Let us avoid the behavior characteristic of people who are proud and greedy, so that, due to the habit of communicating with them, we do not learn their vices (3). /// The great Holy Apostle Paul, recounting the many trials and tribulations to which he had been subjected, cries out [loud]: I die daily! (1 Cor. 15:31). In interpreting these apostolic words, St. John Chrysostom asks, "How did he die on a daily basis?" – and replies: "By zeal and preparedness thereof! And why does the Apostle say this? – “In order to confirm the truth of the resurrection. Who would have opted for so many kinds of death were there no resurrection and no future life ?!” /// “No one can serve two masters ,” says the Lord ( Matt. 6:24 ). About this, St. John Chrysostom teaches: “Do not tell me that you are not worshiping the golden idol, but show me that you are not doing what the gold commands you to do. For the images of idolatry are different: one honors the mammon for gentlemen, another - the womb for God, another - the most universal lust. You do not devour oxen like the Greeks, but much worse, you slaughter your soul; you don’t kneel, you don’t worship, but with great obedience you do everything that commands you womb, gold and lust torment. But for Christ to dwell in us, this is not a matter of one day or two, said St. John Chrysostom, but of many years and years.
