BOOK EXCERPT:

There are items that, if obtained, can open the heavens for further enlightenment before the second coming of the Lord. Through a series of surprise events, a cast of characters begins to come together—a “gathering of peoples” that, unbeknownst to some, have entered into a potentially dangerous and life-threatening situation dealing with the items mentioned above. One of these characters, Darren Brown, a Colorado native with a wife and three children, begins to feel disenfranchised, unsettled, and concerned about the world around him. As he sets off to find some personal answers, he is shortly swept into something that he knows nothing about, changing his and his family’s lives forever. Another character, Misty Butler, an elderly Native American widow, arrives on the scene and she too, after experiencing some powerful and emotional spiritual visions, is wrapped up into the plot. From the first chapter to the last, the plot twists and turns, leaving the reader in suspense over what will happen next.

Interpretation Of Love

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

The ministry is more than preaching, but preaching is its priority. This conviction is one Dr. Ngien has lived and worked with. As a sequel to A Faith Worth Believing, Commending and Living, and Giving Wings to the Soul, Interpretation of Love: God's Love and Ours is a third collection of sermons and talks, preached with rigor and humor, reverence and relevance. Basic to the book is the assertion that the one possessed of a penetrating eye, coupled with a compassionate heart, could interpret, and thus be an effective agency of love. We are saved not so that we might be good, but so that we are God's--chosen and set apart to be his holy, beloved family. Because we are his, we are to dress ourselves differently (Col. 3:12-13). The wardrobe of the holy saints is full of love. The imperative of the new self is to reflect Christ's holiness in the way that we relate to each other. The selfishness that was at the core of our existence now gives way to a loving self-sacrifice for the good of others, resulting in a theology of radical reversal, which is the theology of a holy life: (i) compassion instead of contempt for or indifference to others; (ii) kindness instead of malice; (iii) humility instead of arrogance; (iv) gentleness instead of rudeness; (v) patience instead of anger; (vi) forbearance instead of resentment; and (vii) forgiveness instead of revenge. This is the fruit of Christ's redemptive act on the cross manifest in those who live in joyous obedience and willful submission to the Holy Spirit. Readers will be drawn into the depth of biblical and theological truths presented with anecdotes and antidotes.

Achieving Hr Excellence Through Six Sigma

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Although world-class firms like GE and Motorola have relied on Six Sigma to build their performance cultures, these processes are all too often left out of human resources (HR) functions. This lack of Six Sigma principles is even more surprising because preventing errors and improving productivity are so critical to the people management processes of hiring, retention, appraisal, and development. From the history and evolution of the Total Quality movement to initiatives for introducing a Six Sigma continuous process improvement strategy in your HR department, Achieving HR Excellence through Six Sigma, Second Edition introduces a new way to envision your role within the organization. It explains how this powerful methodology works and supplies a roadmap to help you find and eliminate waste in your HR processes. Describing exactly what HR excellence means, the book outlines dozens of proven approaches as well as a hierarchy of the exact steps required to achieve it. It illustrates the Six Sigma methodology from the creation of a project to its successful completion. At each stage, it describes the specific tools currently available and provides examples of organizations that have used Six Sigma within HR to improve their organizations. The text presents proven approaches that can help you solve and even eliminate people management problems altogether. Filled with real-world examples, it demonstrates how to implement Six Sigma into the transformational side of your organization. It also includes a listing of additional resources to help you along your Six Sigma journey. Explaining how to build a new business model for your HR organization, the book supplies the new perspective and broad view you will need to discover and recommend game-changing alternatives to traditional HR approaches in your organization. The first edition of this book was one of the first to demonstrate how HR professionals could enhance their careers by learning the language of business — it introduced the evolution of change management and the change management toolbox in a fashion that could easily be implemented in organizations. This new edition updates the first with added information on some of the early history and introduces new case study tools resulting from the author’s continuing work with organizations and in academic environments.

Sabra

BOOK EXCERPT:

This is a first person, “as if”, rendition of the New Covenant book of Mark from a perspective, a view – not The View, but a view – of the Unseen Substance of our most precious Faith. It's viewpoint is “through Jesus' eyes” because where the Holy Spirit is Lord, there is Liberty; and so I take the Liberty to let His Word dwell richly in me and flow through me as through the bed of a stream in “a land of milk and honey”, in “a land of grain and new wine”, the same “Mystery” that is “in you” if Christ dwells in your heart by faith, if the Word-made-flesh abides “with” you. It is as a “fire shut up in my bones”, and herein its tongues have licked and have kissed the surface of that which I see. Without His Call and His Equipping, His ever-present Help, I could have done nothing, and could not have sat down, day by day, morning by morning and evening by evening and taken up the “Waterman” He provided at The Chalice Thrift Shop, the “the pen or a ready writer” and given voice to the Voice that sings in me to you.

Strength Like An Eagle

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

This book was written to encourage the body of Christ to know that no matter what we face in life we can have the strength like an eagle. Eagles are strong birds, their wings help them glide, protect their young and keep harm away. We too can possess this strength in keeping our minds and hearts focused and believing that with God all things are possible. Just as the Lord provides and protects the fowl of the air so shall He do the same for us.
