The interdisciplinary field of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) explores ways of making learning more engaging, stimulating, and effective by promoting collaboration among learners through the use of computer networking, simulations, and computational support. This volume reproduces the editorial introductions to the International Journal of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (ijCSCL) since its beginning in 2006. CSCL has in the past 15 years (and often in conjunction with Springer) grown into a thriving and active community. Yet, lacking is a comprehensive CSCL handbook that displays the range of research being done in this area. This handbook will provide an overview of the diverse aspects of the field, allowing newcomers to develop a sense of the entirety of CSCL research and for existing community members to become more deeply aware of work outside their direct area. This two-volume set LNCS 12184 and 12185 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Thematic Area on Human Interface and the Management of Information, HIMI 2020, held as part of HCI International 2020 in Copenhagen, Denmark.* HCII 2020 received a total of 6326 submissions, of which 1439 papers and 238 posters were accepted for publication after a careful reviewing process. The 72 papers presented in the two volumes were organized in the following topical sections: Part I: information presentation and visualization; service design and management; and information in VR and AR. Part II: recommender and decision support systems; information, communication, relationality and learning; supporting work, collaboration and creativity; and information in intelligent systems and environments. *The conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
