BOOK EXCERPT:
Janie Ahmed, a twenty-fourth century biologist, fantasized often about traveling back in time to visit Cleopatra. The happiest morning of Janie’s life began with an invitation from ship’s commander Karen to join the crew of Explorer Seven, the most sophisticated spaceship ever constructed. Cleopatra was a leader, a lover, and brilliant beyond any man of her time, but she would not listen to reason. Janie resorts to mental teleportation. Together with her boyfriend Brad, who takes over Mark Antony’s body, she becomes Cleopatra. And that’s just the beginning… When they leave orbit, Karen then directs the crew to travel forward in time just long enough to drop in on Jerusalem. Jesus must be saved.

BOOK EXCERPT:
Cleopatra VII Philopator was a well-known queen of ancient Egypt who gained worldwide fame for her beauty, intelligence, and political acumen. She ruled over Egypt from 51 BC until her death in 30 BC, and was the last ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty. Cleopatra was the daughter of Ptolemy XII Auletes, and she became queen at the age of 18. During her time as queen, she had relationships with two of the most powerful men in ancient Rome: Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. Her involvement with these two men led to her downfall and ultimately, her death. Cleopatra was known for her intellectual curiosity and her ability to speak multiple languages. She was also a skilled diplomat, and was able to maintain her power by forming alliances and negotiating with other leaders. Her reign saw the growth of Egypt's economy and a resurgence of its cultural and artistic traditions. Cleopatra was also a patron of the arts, and was known for her love of music, poetry, and literature. Despite her many accomplishments, she was viewed by many of her contemporaries as a dangerous woman who used her beauty and intelligence to manipulate those around her.

Purchase one of 1st World Library's Classic Books and help support our free internet library of downloadable eBooks. Visit us online at www.1stWorldLibrary.ORG - - Of all the beautiful women of history, none has left us such convincing proofs of her charms as Cleopatra, for the tide of Rome's destiny, and, therefore, that of the world, turned aside because of her beauty. Julius Caesar, whose legions trampled the conquered world from Canopus to the Thames, capitulated to her, and Mark Antony threw a fleet, an empire and his own honor to the winds to follow her to his destruction. Disarmed at last before the frigid Octavius, she found her peerless body measured by the cold eye of her captor only for the triumphal procession, and the friendly asp alone spared her Rome's crowning ignominy.
