The second Franco-Japanese Singularity Conference was held in the CIRM (Marseille-Luminy) in September 2002. The proceedings of the meeting published in this volume show not only the diversity, but also the consistency of the fields discussed. The main topics covered by the lectures were characteristic classes, residues, stratifications, singularities of curves and surfaces, valuations, resolution of singularities, and toric varieties. Several papers present the results recently obtained in the field so as to be accessible to non-specialists and to users of singularity theory. The volume is suitable for graduate students and research mathematicians interested in geometry and topology.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Arithmetic, Geometry, Cryptography, and Coding Theory (AGCT), held June 3-7, 2013, at CIRM, Marseille, France. These international conferences, held every two years, have been a major event in the area of algorithmic and applied arithmetic geometry for more than 20 years. This volume contains 13 original research articles covering geometric error correcting codes, and algorithmic and explicit arithmetic geometry of curves and higher dimensional varieties. Tools used in these articles include classical algebraic geometry of curves, varieties and Jacobians, Suslin homology, Monsky-Washnitzer cohomology, and -functions of modular forms.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 13th $\mathrm{AGC^2T}$ conference, held March 14-18, 2011, in Marseille, France, together with the proceedings of the 2011 Geocrypt conference, held June 19-24, 2011, in Bastia, France. The original research articles contained in this volume cover various topics ranging from algebraic number theory to Diophantine geometry, curves and abelian varieties over finite fields and applications to codes, boolean functions or cryptography. The international conference $\mathrm{AGC^2T}$, which is held every two years in Marseille, France, has been a major event in the area of applied arithmetic geometry for more than 25 years.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Arithmetic, Geometry, Cryptography, and Coding Theory (AGCT), held at the Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques in Marseille, France, from May 18–22, 2015. Since the first meeting almost 30 years ago, the biennial AGCT meetings have been one of the main events bringing together researchers interested in explicit aspects of arithmetic geometry and applications to coding theory and cryptography. This volume contains original research articles reflecting recent developments in the field.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 12th conference on Arithmetic, Geometry, Cryptography and Coding Theory, held in Marseille, France from March 30 to April 3, 2009, as well as the first Geocrypt conference, held in Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe from April 27 to May 1, 2009, and the European Science Foundation exploratory workshop on Curves, Coding Theory, and Cryptography, held in Marseille, France from March 25 to 29, 2009. The articles contained in this volume come from three related symposia organized by the group Arithmetique et Theorie de l'Information in Marseille. The topics cover arithmetic properties of curves and higher dimensional varieties with applications to codes and cryptography.

In May 2003, two events were held in the CIRM (Marseille-Luminy) devoted to arithmetic, geometry and their applications in coding theory and cryptography: a European school ``Algebraic Geometry and Information Theory'' and the 9th international conference ``Arithmetic, Geometry and Coding Theory''. Some of the courses of the conferences are published in this volume. Topics covered include: Abelian varieties, function fields and curves over finite fields, Galois group of pro-$p$-extensions, Dedekind zeta functions of number fields, numerical semigroups, Waring numbers, bilinear complexity of the multiplication in finite fields and class number problems.

For thirty years, the biennial international conference AGC T (Arithmetic, Geometry, Cryptography, and Coding Theory) has brought researchers to Marseille to build connections between arithmetic geometry and its applications, originally highlighting coding theory but more recently including cryptography and other areas as well. This volume contains the proceedings of the 16th international conference, held from June 19–23, 2017. The papers are original research articles covering a large range of topics, including weight enumerators for codes, function field analogs of the Brauer–Siegel theorem, the computation of cohomological invariants of curves, the trace distributions of algebraic groups, and applications of the computation of zeta functions of curves. Despite the varied topics, the papers share a common thread: the beautiful interplay between abstract theory and explicit results.

With the recent increase in available computing power, new computations are possible in many areas of arithmetic geometry. To name just a few examples, Cremona's tables of elliptic curves now go up to conductor 120,000 instead of just conductor 1,000, tables of Hilbert class fields are known for discriminant up to at least 5,000, and special values of Hilbert and Siegel modular forms can be calculated to extremely high precision. In many cases, these experimental capabilities haveled to new observations and ideas for progress in the field. They have also led to natural algorithmic questions on the feasibility and efficiency of many computations, especially for the purpose of applications in cryptography. The AMS Special Session on Computational Arithmetic Geometry, held onApril 29-30, 2006, in San Francisco, CA, gathered together many of the people currently working on the computational and algorithmic aspects of arithmetic geometry. This volume contains research articles related to talks given at the session. The majority of articles are devoted to various aspects of arithmetic geometry, mainly with a computational approach.

The theory of algebraic function fields over finite fields has its origins in number theory. However, after Goppa`s discovery of algebraic geometry codes around 1980, many applications of function fields were found in different areas of mathematics and information theory. This book presents survey articles on some of these new developments. The topics focus on material which has not yet been presented in other books or survey articles.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Workshop on the Arithmetic of Finite Fields, WAIFI 2010, held in Istanbul, Turkey, in June 2010. The 15 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 33 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on efficient finite field arithmetic, pseudo-random numbers and sequences, Boolean functions, functions, Equations and modular multiplication, finite field arithmetic for pairing based cryptography, and finite field, cryptography and coding.
