BOOK EXCERPT:

Was God telling the truth when he said, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart"? In his #1 bestseller The Case for Christ, Lee Strobel examined the claims of Christ, reaching the hard-won verdict that Jesus is God's unique son. In The Case for Faith, Strobel turns his skills to the most persistent emotional objections to belief--the eight "heart barriers" to faith. This Gold Medallion-winning book is for those who may be feeling attracted to Jesus but who are faced with difficult questions standing squarely in their path. For Christians, it will deepen their convictions and give them fresh confidence in discussing Christianity with even their most skeptical friends. "Everyone--seekers, doubters, fervent believers--benefits when Lee Strobel hits the road in search of answers, as he does again in The Case for Faith. In the course of his probing interviews, some of the toughest intellectual obstacles to faith fall away." - Luis Palau "Lee Strobel has given believers and skeptics alike a gift in this book. He does not avoid seeking the most difficult questions imaginable, and refuses to provide simplistic answers that do more harm than good." - Jerry Sittser, professor of religion, Whitworth College, and author of A Grace Disguised and The Will of God as a Way of Life

The Case For Faith

BOOK EXCERPT:

Was God telling the truth when he said, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart"? In The Case for Faith, bestselling author, journalist, and former atheist Lee Strobel turns his investigative skills to the most persistent emotional objections to belief in God--the eight "heart barriers" to faith: "Since evil and suffering exist, a loving God cannot" "Since miracles contradict science, they cannot be true" "Evolution explains life, so God isn't needed" "God isn't worthy of worship if he kills innocent children" "It's offensive to claim Jesus is the only way to God" "A loving God would never torture people in Hell" "Church history is littered with oppression and violence" "I still have doubts, so I can't be a Christian" This book is for those who may be feeling attracted to Jesus but who are faced with difficult questions standing squarely in their path. For Christians, it will deepen their convictions and give them fresh confidence in defending their faith to skeptical friends, or during the hardest of times, when they have to defend their faith to themselves in moments of doubt. Also available: The Case for Faith Spanish edition, kids' edition, and student edition. Plus, be sure to check out Lee Strobel's entire collection of Case for... books: The Case for Christ investigates the historical evidence for Jesus The Case for a Creator explores the scientific evidence for God The Case for Grace uncovers the "how" and "why" behind God's amazing grace . . . and more!

The Bible And The Holographic Universe

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

From holographic illusions, simulated worlds, and parallel universes to the multiverse, from The Matrix, Star Trek, Marvel and DC Comics to Netflix and mobile games, today's popular imagination is caught up with realities beyond our own. Decades ago, cosmologists speculated that our universe might be a gigantic holographic image. Since then, the "holographic principle" has only gained traction. What is the holographic universe, and how does it align with the Bible's picture of reality and Jesus Christ? Are we a computer simulation? Did aliens spark human life? Is a multiverse a problem for God? Do "time" and "free will" exist? What does it all mean for Christians? Introducing the holographic principle and exploring implications of other worlds through a Christian lens, this basic guide gives individuals and small groups a perspective of eternal investment, prayer, study, and intentional living that focuses on the Bible as the unchanging source of truth, presenting practical information for sorting fact from fiction, engaging with modern culture, and finding a firmer worldview in Christ. Not only is a holographic universe no threat to the Gospel, but the Bible points to a higher reality--hinting at the fingerprints of God in holographic theory.

BOOK EXCERPT:

SAINT JOHN CHRYSOSTOM COLLECTION [10 BOOKS] — Quality Formatting and Value — Active Index, Multiple Table of Contents for all Books — Multiple Illustrations John Chrysostom, c. 349 – 407, Archbishop of Constantinople, was an important Early Church Father. He is known for his preaching and public speaking, his denunciation of abuse of authority by both ecclesiastical and political leaders, the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and his ascetic sensibilities. The epithet ???s?st?µ?? (Chrysostomos, anglicized as Chrysostom) means "golden-mouthed" in Greek and denotes his celebrated eloquence. He is honored as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox and Catholic churches, as well as in some others. The Eastern Orthodox, together with the Byzantine Catholics, hold him in special regard as one of the Three Holy Hierarchs (alongside Basil the Great and Gregory of Nazianzus). The feast days of John Chrysostom in the Eastern Orthodox Church are 13 November and 27 January. In the Roman Catholic Church he is recognized as a Doctor of the Church and commemorated on 13 September. Other churches of the Western tradition, including some Anglican provinces and some Lutheran churches, also commemorate him on 13 September. However, certain Lutheran churches and Anglican provinces commemorate him on the traditional Eastern feast day of 27 January. The Coptic Church also recognizes him as a saint (with feast days on 16 Thout and 17 Hathor). —BOOKS— COMMENTARY ON THE EPISTLE TO THE GALATIANS, AND HOMILIES ON THE EPISTLE TO THE EPHESIANS FOUR DISCOURSES OF CHRYSOSTOM HOMILIES OF SAINT JOHN CHRYSOSTOM: ON THE EPISTLE TO THE HEBREWS SAINT CHRYSOSTOM ON THE PRIESTHOOD SERMON ON ALMS THE DIVINE LITURGIES OF OUR FATHERS THE HOMILIES OF SAINT JOHN CHRYSOSTOM: ON THE GOSPEL OF SAINT MATTHEW THE HOMILIES OF SAINT JOHN CHRYSOSTOM: ON THE SECOND EPISTLE OF SAINT PAUL THE HOMILIES OF SAINT JOHN CHRYSOSTOM: ON THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES THE PAULINE FORMULA INDUERE CHRISTUM: WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE WORKS OF SAINT JOHN CHRYSOSTOM PUBLISHER: AETERNA PRESS
