This interdisciplinary book investigates the problematization of global challenges in world politics by analyzing what they are and how they come to be. Offering a conceptual framework, including four modes of construction—universalizing, bundling, upscaling, and creating urgency—this book provides a heuristic method for understanding how the process of rendering an issue a “global challenge” unfolds. It examines the role of the global challenges discourse, which may either reinforce or challenge the dominant orders of world politics, such as the capitalist market-based system and the liberal international order. As a consequence, the global challenges discourse facilitates the emergence of new actors and policy fields. The book will be of interest to students, academics, and practitioners of global governance, international organizations, and, more broadly, international political economy and international relations.

INTRODUCTION The idea of writing an overview of the challenges within the Montreal ethnic entrepreneur community was given by my former director to assess the need for new services and initiatives. Instead of making an inventory of specific needs from my day to day work experience with the Black entrepreneurs I created a general picture of the main realities within the ethnic community in the Cities of Western countries where we live as Diaspora. This analysis target essentially the ethnic entrepreneurs that recently immigrated, emphasis on the Black community, who have the challenge to integrate themselves as individuals or communities. Most of you are familiar with them, but at least we can now have a document that we can share so that everyone will be on the same page to start an action against these challenges and initiate CHANGE.

Frontiers in Earth Science is an open-access journal that aims to bring together and publish on a single platform the best research dedicated to our planet. This platform hosts all the rapidly growing and continuously expanding domains in Earth Science, involving the lithosphere (including geology, geophysics, geochemistry, and geography), the hydrosphere (including hydrology and cryospheric, marine and ocean sciences, complementing the existing Frontiers journal on Marine Science) and the atmosphere (including meteorology and climatology). As such, Frontiers in Earth Science focuses on the countless processes operating within and among the major spheres constituting our planet. In turn, the understanding of these processes provides the theoretical background to better use the available resources and to face the major environmental challenges (including earthquakes, tsunamis, eruptions, floods, landslides, climate changes, sea level rise, extreme meteorological events): this is where interdependent processes meet, requiring a holistic view to better live on and with our planet. Within this volume are included the Grand Challenge papers for the Earth Science field, authored by the Field Chief Editor, and several of the 16 online specialty sections, authored by the respective Chief Editors. These articles identify and describe the crucial challenges for Earth Science at the dawn of the 21st century.

The societies of the twenty-first century are subject to social, cultural, political, and economic changes. In this context, the school is asked to educate the future citizens in the present. To respond to this kaleidoscopic reality, the school is immersed in a pedagogical revolution. In this book, the reader will find a selection of avant-garde research works from different disciplines and contexts, which have their epicenter in the school and in the faculties of education. New issues in pedagogy and education, and new roles of teachers and students, are discussed in a global and diverse context. Every event in life has a context. We are encouraged to take decisions based on the context and the options which present themselves. Right from my school days, I had taken keen interest in trekking and mountaineering. At various stages of my life, I availed of the opportunity to go for treks, attended rock climbing program at Nuh organised by Delhi Mountaineering Association and also enrolled for the Basic Mountaineering Course at Himalayan Mountaineering Institute at Darjeeling in 1983. I couldn't finish the course because of sickness. My love for mountains started with the school trips at my alma mater Modern School where I got exposed to trekking in and around Nainital and Dalhousie (Khajjiar, Chamba). Passion for the mountains has been a constant theme of my personal life. So, when the opportunity of the Expedition 2 to Margan Pass (13000 ft) presented itself, I had no hesitation in joining along with 10 other students from 1st and 2nd years of the MBA program at Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi. This was a milestone for me. I subsequently led the Expedition 3 to Sach Pass (15000 ft). The learnings from these real-life events were life changing. The lessons learnt were to shape my corporate career which was to follow after the MBA Program. During the expeditions, you go through real life experiences which help you to test and improve your leadership skills. The expeditions were like a leadership laboratory on teamwork, risk taking, project strategizing, resourcing, planning, inter-personal conflict resolution and crisis management. Needless to say, at a personal level, it was a humbling experience. I have shared these experiences with various generations of students at FMS in the form of a case study, hoping that someday they would benefit from these lessons. I could have written this book earlier in my life but I would have perhaps missed out on the leadership experiences and formal leadership concepts which I have learnt along the way.

Recreational or sports fishing is a multi-billion dollar industry worldwide and in many countries represents an important social and cultural activity. In some regions, it also contributes significant income to tourism and tackle businesses.
