Archbishop Julian Porteous is well known in Australia as a great promoter of evangelisation within the Catholic Tradition. His most recent contribution is a helpful handbook on this vital topic: "Becoming Missionary Disciples". It expands upon three panoramic topics - "the heart, head and hands" of missionary discipleship. It includes helpful questions that the reader or groups can use for further personal reflections. Archbishop Porteous reflects upon key scriptural texts on missionary discipleship. This is complemented by showcasing Australians and their personal testimonies of encountering Jesus. Then there is the journey to deeper discipleship within the Catholic Church. Locating the particular mission the Holy Spirit offers all is explained. Archbishop Porteous has a humble and conversational tone throughout the foundational subjects considered. His topics not only relate to evangelisation but also evangelise in the reading. This book is ideal for both personal and group use. Archbishop Christopher Prowse Chair, Australian Catholic Bishops Conference Commission for Evangelisation, Laity and Ministry. Archbishop Porteous has long been a leader among the world's bishops in understanding and communicating the importance of evangelization. In his new book he very clearly communicates the content and motivation of evangelization and also provides very helpful spiritual and practical guidance about how to actually go about it! This is a very helpful book for anyone interested in our Church's call to participate in the mission of Jesus - and we all should be interested! Ralph Martin S.T.D. Director of Graduate Theology Programs in the New Evangelization, Sacred Heart Major Seminary Archdiocese of Detroit This new book from Archbishop Porteous offers a helpful, simple explanation of what it means to be an intentional missionary disciple. I recommend it to any Catholic who wants to deepen in personal conversion, and grow in the knowledge and techniques of bringing the good news of Jesus to our contemporaries. Fr Ken Barker MGL Founder, Missionaries of God's Love This short book puts in written form a series of presentations given in 2022 to Catholics across Tasmania. The "Evangelium Project" was a series of three modules of five sessions given at the Cathedral Centre in Hobart and live-streamed to 23 hubs across Tasmania. Some 250 people were engaged in the program. The purpose of the project was to assist ordinary Catholics in responding to the call of Pope Francis to become "missionary disciples". The series was broken into three separate modules titled ''heart", ''head" and ''hands". We firstly, explored the conversion experience which results from an encounter with Jesus of Nazareth. Then we explored our identity as believers. Finally, we explored some simple ways in which the average Catholic can become active as a missionary disciple. The series was presented as a spiritual journey rather than a series of informational talks. Thus, each session began with a period of prayer including the singing of hymns. At the end of each session, a question for personal reflection was presented. Those participating were encouraged to reflect on the question and then share in a small group. I would recommend that this book be used as a spiritual journey, and so encourage prayer and reflection to accompany its use.

This small-group guide will help Catholics live out the call of Jesus to meet those on the peripheries with the Good News of the Gospel for their lives. Creating a Culture of Encounter: A Guide for Joyful Missionary Disciples offers an organized five-week parish encounter process to help small groups to dig deeper into the Church's evangelizing mission. In each session, participants take up a new aspect of Jesus' encounter with the disciples on the road to Emmaus and focus on a different element of the evangelical call to spread the Gospel, inspired by Pope Francis's Evangelii Gaudium. The five-week guide invites participants to See, Judge, Act, Celebrate, and take Missionary Action each week. This new community resource finds its roots in the gathering of the V Encuentro Nacional Hispano de Pastoral. The Spanish/English guide will deepen missionary discipleship in parishes, lay ecclesial movements, Catholic schools, parish councils, religious groups, and faith formation teams. The encounter process will bear good fruit, as Catholics take up their missionary mandate in families, schools, workplaces, communities, parishes, and wherever they encounter those in need of God's love. Pick up this guide now and step out to encounter those in need of the light of the Gospel!

The messages in this book were delivered at the Third World Convention of Christian Missionary Fellowship International at her headquarters in Koume, Bertoua, Cameroon from 8th to 17th December, 2019 to brethren of the Community from 93 nations from the six continents. We were gathered to give account to God, thank and celebrate Him who blessed and enabled us to accomplish the Phase 2 goal of our work. These messages serve as an orientation for the pursuit of the goal, and directives for our work in the next five to seven years. In pursuing these directives as a disciple-making movement, God being our Helper, and by the blessings of the Lord, we expect to be a community in which every member loves the Lord Jesus or returns to the first love for the Lord Jesus. Our heart cry to the Lord is that these messages would help keep us on the rails and stir us to work hard at accomplishing the goal that we joyously accepted from and committed ourselves to before our blessed Lord and Master Jesus Christ.

The world is entering a new frontier. The economy, technology, family structure, neighborhoods, organizations, and networks of North America are rapidly changing. In Pioneers, Jon Wiest and Ed Love use the story of Luke 10 as a blueprint for raising up a new wave of pioneering leaders, willing to blaze new trails in the "wild west" of our post-Christian culture. Jesus sent out 72 missionary disciples to pave the way for his message to be received. We believe God wants to do the same with modern-day pioneering leaders. This practical book will lay a historical and biblical foundation for any missionary disciple interested in engaging and serving a group of people uncomfortable or unfamiliar with the established church. Are you ready to answer the call to pioneer a new work in your neighborhood or community?

You can also call: 1-888-344-2355 (Joel Comiskey Group). Jesus lived with His disciples for three years and taught them essential life lessons as a group. After three years, he commanded them to "go and do likewise" (Matthew 28:18-20). Jesus discipled His followers through relationships-and He wants us to do the same. We in the west, on the other hand, prepare lone-ranger disciples based on our culture of individualism. This book will detail how our culture of individualism has now turned into isolationism and that social relationships are at an all-time low. The church of Jesus Christ has also been negatively impacted through a brand of individualism that fails to truly make disciples. This book will encourage Christ-followers to allow God to mold them through the natural relationships of life: family, friends, work relationships, church, cells, etc. It will explain how God uses the relationships in our lives to mold and shape us into His disciples. The book will cover such themes as: --New Testament Community --The Problem of Isolation --Relationship with God --Relationship with those closest to you (spouse, family --Relationship with friends and work associates --Relationships through small group ministry --Relationships in the local church --Relationships with the un-churched This book will demonstrate how God uses relationships to mold and shape followers of Jesus. My hope is that God will use this book to help readers see that He is using the natural relationships in their lives to mold and shape them into followers of Jesus.
