Plastic surgery continues to be a rapidly growing field in medicine. There have been multiple recent advancements in the field. Specifically, there has been a continuously growing interest in fat grafting, body contouring, minimally invasive surgery, and plastic surgery education. At the same time, there have been continued advances and modifications in surgical techniques, which translate into better and improved results for our patients while increasing safety and efficacy. The title of the book is Current Concepts in Plastic Surgery and, as such, it highlights some of the "hot topics" in recent years. We have invited renowned specialists from around the world to share their valued expertise and experience. Most of the chapters will expose the reader to multiple techniques for achieving desired results, with emphasis on the author's preferred methodology.

The Aim of "Current Concepts of General Thoracic Surgery" is to provide a brief overview of several topics in this field. It includes a collection of contributions from many outstanding Authors who provide their knowledge and experience from many countries around the world. We apologize for the chapters reviewed that have were not chosen for publication in this book; however, according to the single centres experience, the final result offers thorough and precious information on the several topics evaluated by the Authors. The wide range of subjects discussed goes from CT assessment of solitary pulmonary and metastatic nodules to prospective studies of drug delivery in thoracic surgery including surgical risk prediction, stress reaction, robotic pulmonary and cardiac procedures, vascular and thoracic reconstruction techniques, thoracic trauma and mediastinal fistula. Books on cleft surgery are usually very specific and written for experts in the field. A basic surgical learning manual on the techniques of cleft surgery has been missing on the market so far. Surgical atlases do not contain all surgical steps and make it difficult for beginners in cleft surgery to understand the surgical concept in the operating room. The technique of cleft surgery is often passed on directly from teacher to student without using a didactically elaborated teaching concept. This book closes precisely this gap. Thus, cleft surgery is presented systematically - with first steps on an innovative training model, didactically meaningful and with numerous detailed illustrations. As a start, there is a brief description on how the established surgical techniques became standard and which considerations led to these concepts.
