Dear Son Timothy 2

BOOK EXCERPT:

Hello, I'm Min Shalom, the servant of Christ. Before entering the seminary, I meditated on the Demodel following the Holy Spirit\'s impression. The title [To My Dear Son] is because the Lord encouraged me to teach me as a father responsible for my children. As God's father told me, Paul was absorbed in taking what he had told Timothy and keeping it in his heart. Especially, the meditation of Timothy captured the deep relationship with the Lord, and I would like to reveal to everyone for the first time that I and the Lord have a secret relationship. It is a more precious asset than gold in my life, and it is a product of precious faith, so I would like to share grace with all of you through this book. In particular, I think this book will be a little comfort to prospective theology students and pastors like me who want to be your servant. I am sure that it will be a challenge and encouragement for those who are currently contemplating theology, theology students, and traders. As a servant of the Lord, this path is very lonely and steeper, and sometimes it feels like walking alone. Every time I see the mentors and pastors I respect, I'm always jealous of how they\'re holding on to this path and walking with joy, but I'm always scared and intimidated because I'm not confident. But thanks to God's Father, who listened to your voice and stood before you to gain a lot of comfort, strength, and hold on to the essence through the book of Demodel. Lord, who is the same yesterday and today forever, we invite you all with the love and tolerance of the father who leads us to love, even if there is no beauty! Then I'll meet you in heaven!

Dear Son

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Today’s culture doesn’t encourage men to grow up. Everyone from pastors to op-ed columnists have described a crisis of masculinity, fostered by a media culture that uniformly make men the butts of jokes. Men are much more likely to give up on life than women. One indicator of this is the large gender difference in suicide rates—men are four times more likely than women to drop out of life. This points to a profound lack of effective mentoring of men, especially in the church. Dave Bruskas seeks to fill in this gap with this book. Two decades ago, Dave lost his only infant son to a congenital heart defect. That devastating loss fueled his desire to provide effective mentoring to young men. Dear Son contains the guidance and insights Dave would have given his son if he had lived through the milestones of growing up: from first dates to first jobs, from weddings to births, from friendships to funerals. Dear Son contains heartfelt wisdom for life’s journey, especially for guys—and for those who want to strengthen them.

Teaching As Paul Taught

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Though books on Paul's life and writing abound, very few works have examined the apostle's teaching techniques. In this companion to 'Teaching as Jesus Taught,' Roy Zuck probes Paul's pedagogy to discover principles for effective teaching today. According to Zuck, the apostle Paul stands as a master teacher. "Analyzing and following Paul's educational goals and strategies," Zuck writes, "can help us become better teachers of God's Word. Examining his pedagogy can acquaint us with a number of important principles and procedures in teaching." 'Teaching as Paul Taught' explores the many New Testament references to Paul's teaching as well as the historical and cultural context in which the apostle taught. Zuck carefully organizes this extensive material around fifteen key questions regarding the teaching ministry of Paul. Over twenty tables and questions for reflection at the end of each chapter aid readers in following Paul's example. The result is a comprehensive and practical handbook for everyone involved in a teaching ministry.
