A Journey To Hell And Back

BOOK EXCERPT:

A Journey To Hell and Back is a gripping saga of a young woman's journey from adolescence to adulthood at an accelerated pace. This book is an exploration of a troubled teen's journey into the underworld to emerge as an independent, confident, and self-assured woman. Pitfalls, tragedy, and trials that lure a young honor student into the mean streets of Atlanta and finally, New York mark the story. Her journey to hell led her through a fiery furnace that burned 70 % of her body with 2nd and 3rd degree burns, and an over three months hospital stay where God provided personal consolation and healing. After God miraculously saved her from a life in the streets heaped with sin, her zeal for God resulted in her making additional mistakes, including renewing the abusive relationship that had almost cost her life. The story is a modern day version of Dante's Inferno. Each layer of Hell corresponds with a new low in the protagonist's life. Finally, from within the very bowels of Hell, she cries out to the Lord for salvation. This spiritual epiphany becomes a turning point in her life, thrusting her forward from Hell. The tremendous suffering and miraculous ending of this book will offer hope and comfort for anyone suffering from loneliness, heartache, or disappointment. It provides a realistic and human perspective on many social topics such as teenage rebellion and pregnancy, domestic violence, divorce, AIDS, substance abuse, prostitution, and the legal system. It is a necessity for anyone who has been a part or will work with any of these populations.

BOOK EXCERPT:

This is my Hell and Back story. I was in two wars; one with Korea and one with my wife. My story starts during the Great Depression of the Twentieth Century; on my father’s self-sustaining farm. Before the age of five, my family’s pet sheep, rammed my forehead into the tractor’s steel wheel; leaving a visible “V” scar, on my head for the rest of my life. This “V” was proof; that God would give me victory, over hell throughout my life. Be it near death experiences; on the farm, in war, driving vehicles, building homes, marriage, heart attack, multiple bypasses and the lost of my free movie sweet heart. I learned how to be at peace with myself and God. This peace allowed me to face my hells head on; witness God walking me through them, establish me again and take me through the next season of my life. My Story finishes, with it being a navigational inspiration tool; that guides us and the generations to come, through our hell and backs. Included are my Hell and Back Survival TipsTM that guided me through my two wars. Plus the Law of Unconditional Love, I discovered while in my two wars.

Do you know what it’s like to go to hell and back? For those of us who live through addiction, the experience is all too familiar. This was the fate of author Steven L. Massé, who spent the whole of his adult life—and much of his childhood—in an infernal battle with his addiction to alcohol, fighting for his very life. Beginning when he had his first drink at age twelve, this staggering collection of poems recounts the torment Massé endured in facing this demon, time and time again, on his unlikely road to recovery. Penned from his hospital bed after yet another harrowing encounter with his alcoholism, these poems shed light on the grueling but necessary path to sobriety—even in the unlikeliest of circumstances. For the millions who find themselves in addiction hell—and the millions more who love them—this collection is sure to make a heartening source of compassion, comfort, and commiseration.

BOOK EXCERPT:

This is a story about a wager between an angel and a demon over the direction a man ́s life will take. All of the stories in this book are based on true events that occurred in the life of the author or in Biblical history. There have been many testimonials written that describe the lifestyles that people have been delivered from but very few address the struggles that ordinary Christians face when they begin their walk with God. Most people will struggle with the flesh and with wrong attitudes and will not know how to deal with the demons that will come to tempt, discourage, and oppress them. I want people who read this book to be able to identify with some of the struggles faced by the characters and be encouraged that they are not alone in their own personal struggles. Salvation is instant but holiness is a lifelong journey that requires constant maintenance checks. I want to assure them that God loves them despite their shortcomings and still wants to use them to build His kingdom. The purpose of this book is to entertain, educate, and equip. I put the story into a fiction format to attract the average reader who is interested in God, angels, and demons but doesn ́t necessarily attend church services. I tried to fill the srories with information about God and the benefits of being a Christian. I want to make them aware of the demonic forces arrayed against them and teach them about the power that is available to them to combat these forces of darkness. There are many scripture references and Biblical reenactments that should spark curiosity and provoke the reader to further bible study on their own. For the serious Bible student there is a wealth of information from the Book of Enoch and the Testament of Solomon. Although this is a work of fiction there was a lot of reseach done and the information found in this book can be used to help you make the right decisions in life, to protect yourself from demonic entities, and to have a more satisfying relationship with God and enjoy the benefits of being in covenant with Him.

BOOK EXCERPT:

'Superb ... likely to become a classic' Observer In the summer of 1914 most of Europe plunged into a war so catastrophic that it unhinged the continent's politics and beliefs in a way that took generations to recover from. The disaster terrified its survivors, shocked that a civilization that had blandly assumed itself to be a model for the rest of the world had collapsed into a chaotic savagery beyond any comparison. In 1939 Europeans would initiate a second conflict that managed to be even worse - a war in which the killing of civilians was central and which culminated in the Holocaust. To Hell and Back tells this story with humanity, flair and originality. Kershaw gives a compelling narrative of events, but he also wrestles with the most difficult issues that the events raise - with what it meant for the Europeans who initiated and lived through such fearful times - and what this means for us.
