The two-volume 'Oxford Handbook of Music Performance' provides the most comprehensive and authoritative resource for musicians, educators and scholars currently available. It is aimed primarily for practicing musicians, particularly those who are preparing for a professional career as performers and are interested in practical implications of psychological and scientific research for their own music performance development; educators with a specific interest or expertise in music psychology, who will wish to apply the concepts and techniques surveyed in their own teaching; undergraduate and postgraduate students who understand the potential of music psychology for informing music education; and researchers in the area of music performance who consider it important for the results of their research to be practically useful for musicians and music educators.

The application of digital signal processing (DSP) to problems in audio has been an area of growing importance since the pioneering DSP work of the 1960s and 70s. In the 1980s, DSP micro-chips became sufficiently powerful to handle the complex processing operations required for sound restoration in real-time, or close to real-time. This led to the first commer cially available restoration systems, with companies such as CEDAR Audio Ltd. in the UK and Sonic Solutions in the US selling dedicated systems world-wide to recording studios, broadcasting companies, media archives and film studios. Vast amounts of important audio material, ranging from historic recordings of the last century to relatively recent recordings on analogue or even digital tape media, were noise-reduced and re-released on CD for the increasingly quality-conscious music enthusiast. Indeed, the first restorations were a revelation in that clicks, crackles and hiss could for the first time be almost completely eliminated from recordings which might otherwise be un-releasable in CD format. Until recently, however, digital audio processing has required high-powered computational engines which were only available to large institutions who could afford to use the sophisticated digital remastering technology. With the advent of compact disc and other digital audio formats, followed by the increased accessibility of home computing, digital audio processing is now available to anyone who owns a PC with sound card, and will be of increasing importance, in association with digital video, as the multimedia revolution continues into the next millennium.

This book comprises selected papers of the 4th International Conference on Future Generation Information Technology, FGIT 2012, held in Gangneug, Korea, in December 2012. The papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions and focus on the various aspects of advances in information technology. They were selected from the following 11 conferences: BSBT 2012, CGAG 2012, DCA 2012, DTA 2012, EL 2012, FGCN 2012, GDC 2012, IESH 2012, IUrC 2012, MulGraB 2012, and UNESST 2012.

Some may only know the jazz legend Stan Getz, tenor saxophonist, for his bossa nova hits "Desafinado" and "The Girl from Ipanema." However, Getz, born in 1927, began to play professionally at age 15, and his rich musical career lasted until shortly before his death on June 6, 1991. He played in a wide variety of musical settings such as big band, orchestral, quartet, and duo. The incredible beauty of his sound sparked the late jazz great John Coltrane to say, "We would all play like Stan Getz, if we could." When Getz died, jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie said, "He was sheer genius. And there's one thing about this man, he was the most melodic player on the jazz scene." This bibliography, the first of its kind, contains a total of 2,576 bibliographic citations with 2,292 of them annotated. It includes references to periodical literature, articles from news wire services, books, dissertations, films, videos, television programs, radio broadcasts, and Web sites. The citations are primarily from English-language sources. Materials in English and French as well as a handful of items from other languages are annotated. This work includes a preface that contains the scope of the work, a user's guide, and a list of more than 340 periodicals cited. The main body of the work is divided into the following sections: album reviews, performance reviews, discographies and discographical information, transcriptions, biographical and critical works, filmography, and appendix. Album reviews are provided for 240 albums, along with the discographical details for each of these albums. The appendix contains unannotated citations to materials in Danish, Dutch, German, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish.
