BOOK EXCERPT:
This book highlights best practices in climate change education through the analysis of a rich collection of case studies that showcase educational programs across the United States. Framed against the political backdrop of a country in which climate change denial presents a significant threat to global action for mitigation and adaptation, each case study examines the various strategies employed by those working in this increasingly challenging sociopolitical environment. Via co-authored chapters written by educational researchers and climate change education practitioners in conversation with one another, a wide range of education programs is represented. These range from traditional institutions such as K-12 schools and universities to the contemporary learning environments of museums and environmental education centres. The role of mass media and community-level educational initiatives is also examined. The authors cover a multitude of topics, including the challenge of multi-stakeholder projects, tensions between indigenous knowledge and scientific research, education for youth activism, and professional learning. By telling stories of success and failure from the field, this book provides climate change researchers and educators with tools to help them navigate increasingly rough and rising waters.

BOOK EXCERPT:
One of the UK's most experienced and respected diplomats reveals the inside story behind his resignation—and his perspective on the challenges of Brexit and the Trump White House. "@realDonaldTrump: The wacky ambassador that the UK foisted on the United States is not someone we are thrilled with, a very stupid guy . . . We will no longer deal with him." Kim Darroch is one of the UK's most experienced and respected diplomats, and this unvarnished, behind-the-scenes account will reveal the inside story behind his resignation; describe the challenges of dealing with the Trump White House; and offer a diplomat's perspective on Brexit, and how it looked to Britain's closest ally. Darroch was the British Ambassador to the US as the age of Trump dawned and Brexit unfolded. He explains why the British embassy expected a Trump victory from as early as February 2016, what part every key figure—from Steve Bannon to Sarah Sanders—has played in Trump's administration, and what balanced policy makers on both sides of the Atlantic should consider during this era of seismic change and populist politics. A riveting account from the best-informed insider, Collateral Damage charts the strangest and most convulsive period in the recent history of Britain and the US—and shows how thirty months threatened to overturn three centuries of history.

BOOK EXCERPT:
This book is a biography of my life. The difficulties and obstacles experienced in my 14-18yr Journey from the pinnacle of my clinical career and status in London in UK, USA and Europe with multiple degrees and striving for the fourth degree in the field of implant surgery and bone grafting, I was reduced to zero and begging conditions in three Countries. I was deliberately destroyed. My fault was to help make a Temple in Mauritius for a Priestess. After 14 difficult years I met God and Creator. The books explains about life and death, secrets about what happens to human beings after death, what happens to many souls after physical, premature and untimely deaths, how sinister techniques are employed to destroy people and kill people without leaving any trace of evidence. The ‘invisible enemies’ form the secret world of spirits and black magic. The real life road traffic accidents were too many, Yoga and meditation was my forte, Mystery of God revealed, conspiracy I was subjected to, Pyramids at back of USA Dollar bill and Paradise explained, soul power verses kundalini energies and 3rd eye. The epic Journey has more twists and turns than you will find in Hollywood or Bollywood films. The end result is author discovering or meeting both Creator and God and his fight continued to reveal the truth to masses which is completely covered up. Do remember there are many new things which can be added to what I have learned after 2009 yr. when this book was written. BOOK EXCERPT:
The discovery of Hebrew manuscripts of Ben Sira in the Cairo Genizah has shaped and transformed the interpretation of the book. It is argued here that a proper appreciation of the manuscripts themselves is also essential for understanding this ancient work. Since their discovery 120 years ago and subsequent identification of leaves, attention has been directed to the interpretation of the ancient book, the Wisdom of Ben Sira. Serious consideration should also be given to the Hebrew manuscripts themselves and their particular contributions to understanding the language and transmission of the book. The surprising appearance of a work that was preserved by Christians and denounced by some Rabbis raises questions over the preservation of the book. At the same time, diversity among the manuscripts means that exegesis has to be built on an appreciation of the individual manuscripts. The contributors examine the manuscripts in this light, examining their discovery, the codicology and reception of the manuscripts within rabbinic and medieval Judaism, and the light they throw on the Hebrew language and poetic techniques. The book is essential reading for those working on Ben Sira, the reception of the deuterocanon, and Medieval Hebrew manuscripts.
