Displaced archives have long been a problem and their existence continues to trouble archivists, historians and government officials. This book focuses on inclusion and governance agenda on the issue of migration within a framework of South-South cooperation. Increasing migration waves present an extraordinary and complex challenge to the international community. In the existing literature, migration processes have been described mostly from Western perspectives, and although these perspectives are analytically relevant, they lack the advantage of a broader interpretation. Taking a Global South approach, this volume gives voices to authors from several Latin American and Latin European universities to offer a more dynamic discussion of the challenges of migration in the twenty-first century. The authors take a broad perspective of global migration, with a focus on case studies from the Global South that highlight Latin American and North African experiences in particular.

In contemporary Western societies, lyric poetry is often considered an elitist or solipsistic literary genre. Yet a closer look at its history reveals that lyric has always been intertwined with the politics of community formation, from the imagining of national and transnational discursive communities, to the use of poetry in episodes of collective action, protest, and social resistance. Poetic forms have circulated between languages and traditions from around the world and across time. But how does lyric poetry address or even create communities — and of what kinds? The situation of internally displaced persons has been a matter of international concern - and legal debate - since at least the late 1990s and early 2000s, and its salience has only increased in the context of extreme weather events produced by intensifying climate change. Research in political philosophy, however, has so far barely touched on this issue, despite its close connection to and relevance for lively and expansive debates on migration, refugees, territorial rights, state sovereignty, and climate change. This volume aims to set the philosophical agenda for articulating a political ethics of internal displacement, and to highlight the importance of the phenomenon for these wider theoretical issues. Urban Resettlements in the Global South provides new perspectives on resettlement through an urban studies lens. To date, resettlement has been theorised through development studies and refugee studies, but urban resettlement is also a major dimension of urban development in the Global South and may help to rethink contemporary urban dynamics between spectacular new town developments and rising incidences of eviction and displacement. Conceptualising resettlement as a binding notion between production/regeneration and destruction/demolition of urban space helps to illuminate interdependencies and to underline significant ambiguities within affected people’s perspectives towards resettlement projects.
