BOOK EXCERPT:
In Ayurveda, the Indian system of medicine, most of the herbo-mineral drugs are prepared by repeated incineration of metal or its salt with herbal extract/juices, and taken orally in small amount with honey, ghee and butter milk so as to enhance their bioavailability as well as potency to treat the disease. ÏvÁsa-KÁsa-CintÁmani Rasa is mentioned in many texts and is used in bronchial asthma since many centuries by our Acharyas. Yogendra Rasa is another formulation that is used in the treatment of developmental disorders in children. This book contains the details of the clinical trial and experimental study that was performed as a part of doctoral level research work at Banaras Hindu University to evaluate the effect of these formulations among the pediatric population.
