This book contains selected articles from the third International Conference on Geotechnical Engineering-Iraq 2022 (3ICGE-2022) held on May 29–31, 2022, at the University of Baghdad/Baghdad/Iraq. This proceeding discusses the latest research and studies in geotechnical engineering and all related topics in different fields such as civil engineering, environmental engineering, and architectural engineering. This book gives participants from both academics and industry a great chance to learn about recent developments in Geotechnical engineering fields.

The International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering, Science and Technology (ICETEST) was held at the Government Engineering College, Thrissur, Kerala, India, from 18th to 20th January 2018, with the theme, “Society, Energy and Environment”, covering related topics in the areas of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Architecture. Conflict between energy and environment has been of global significance in recent years. Academic research needs to support the industry and society through socially and environmentally sustainable outcomes. ICETEST 2018 was organized with this specific objective. The conference provided a platform for researchers from different domains, to discuss and disseminate their findings. Outstanding speakers, faculties, and scholars from different parts of the world presented their research outcomes in modern technologies using sustainable technologies.

This book deals with the attempts made by the scholars and engineers to address contemporary issues in geotechnical engineering such as characterization of geomaterials, slope stability and tunneling, sustainability in geohazards and some other geotechnical issues that are becoming quite relevant in today's world. With increasing urbanization rates and development of society, advancement in geotechnical technologies is essential to the construction of infrastructures. Geotechnical Investigation is the first step of applying scientific methods and engineering principles to obtain solutions of civil engineering problems. Papers were selected from the 5th GeoChina International Conference on Civil Infrastructures Confronting Severe Weathers and Climate Changes: From Failure to Sustainability, held on July 23-25, 2018 in HangZhou, China.

This book contains the full papers on which the invited lectures of the 4th International Conference on Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering (4ICEGE) were based. The conference was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 25 to 28 June, 2007.
