The new standards and changes exist in social science studies. Covid 19, especially in Indonesia, at the end of 2019, has an impact on changes in every sector of life. This change is a form of community adaptation. Therefore, this conference aims to explore theoretical and practical developments of the social sciences, to build academic networks while gathering academics from various research institutes and universities. This book provides the new standard and encourages many thoughts in theoretical and empirical studies in the social field. ​This book presents the development and reformation of economic law in China and explores the "three relationships" between the government and market, between reform and rule of law, and between the constitution and economic law. On this basis, it subsequently focuses on development theory, distribution theory, risk theory and crisis theory. Further, it addresses effective development, fair distribution, and prevention and resolution of related risks and crises, which are important functions of economic law. In order to achieve the above functions and objectives, the book argues, we must vigorously promote the integration of rule of law in economic law, and constantly refine the theory of economic rule of law employed in China.The book demonstrates that no matter how the "three major relationships" are adjusted or the relevant systems are reformed – i.e., regarding the implementation of the concept of coordinated development or the optimization of economic structures; the solution of distribution problems or the improvement of distribution systems; the prevention of risks or the response to crises – any such changes depend on economic rule of law. The nature and science of compassion encompasses many aspects of human behavior, social and organizational experience, with resultant debate about its definition, meaning and application. Research, theorizing and scholarship is spread across a wide range of methodological, disciplinary, historical, and cultural perspectives including psychology, sociology, psychosocial studies, organizational science, inter/national politics, and evolutionary studies. Global concerns relating to the climate crisis, COVID-19 pandemic, and mass movements of displaced people all point to an urgent need for compassion in all human interactions. New and innovative interdisciplinary approaches, agendas, and paradigms are needed to both compliment, and critique, existing understandings of the meaning and applications of compassion in all its diverse and complex forms. In a world where there appears to be increasing demand for simplification and quantification from governments and policy makers, questions must be asked about what this means for psychology and social science research. The tendency towards post/positivist reductionism has led to critiques that universities have become factories that produce sterile, derivative, unimaginative writing. 21st-century universities have been described as ‘anxiety machines’, lacking in compassion, and creating more competition and stress than knowledge. Arguably, research into compassion should take place in compassionate disciplinary and institutional cultures. We all have a role to play in addressing the lack of compassion in universities, which will involve an institutional level shift from individual-level competition to group-level collaboration. Importantly, recent advances in compassion research promise gains in understanding in both the science and neuroscience of human experience, and in applications of that work to improve humankind and the world around us. Qualitative research in psychology and psychosocial approaches, although becoming more visible, still remain a minority endeavor within the discipline. The COVID-19 pandemic represents a critical juncture in the development of the welfare state affirming its importance for its citizens’ economic, health and wellbeing, and safety, especially for its most vulnerable populations. It demonstrated that the crisis preparedness that is crucial for an effective protection of its citizens, the ultimate purpose of the welfare state, unquestionably exceeds the narrow horizon of a corporatised welfare industry with its singular focus on the maximisation of profit for the elites and cost containment for the government. Social workers need to engage with the contradictions and tensions that spring from underfunded welfare services and engage in the political struggle over a well-resourced welfare state. Contributors to this book take on this challenge. Museums and the Challenge of Change explores the profound challenges facing museums and charts ways forward that are grounded in partnership with audiences and communities on-site, online, and in wider society. Facing new generations with growing needs and desires, growing population diversity, and a digital revolution, the museum sector knows it must change – but it has been slow to respond.
