Abstract: A review of the extensive literature concerning the administration of federal and state food stamp programs in the U.S. is presented in an annotated bibliography. Following an introduction providing a chronological overview of the topic, citations of printed references are classified within 7 subject areas: history of food stamp programs from the 1930's to 1961; background information on potential food stamps recipients; nutrition and food information; Pres. Nixon's reforms; food stamps delivery; advocacy for the poor in need for food stamps; and debate on food stamp fraud and abuse. Citations of related interest, sourcebooks and ongoing sources of information are also referenced. An index of authors is included.
