A Journey To Freedom

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Can psychology and religion engage in constructive dialogue ? Has psychology a contribution to make in Christian formation ? These are some of the issues addressed in this volume, marking 25 years of the Institute of Psychology of the Gregorian University. The twenty articles which make up the work offer essential insights into how psychology and religion can meet and interact constructively, at the level of theory and of practice. These insights are presented in the context of an overall Christian anthropology which continues to develop and to further refine its practical applications. The contributions are divided into four sections - theory and method, dialogue between psychology and other disciplines, applications in different cultures, and concrete experiences of applying a psychologically-informed Christian anthropology in the educational setting. The balanced approach presented in this work makes it both a serious instrument of study and a valuable point of reference for the educator. Its constant reference to a Christian conception of the person will help avoid short-sighted pragmatism.

From Labels To Liberation A Journey Of Faith And Freedom

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

From Labels to Liberation: A Journey of Faith, Hope, and Freedom In 'From Labels to Liberation,' author Mohsen Khajeh shares an inspiring and deeply personal story of a courageous journey from a world defined by labels to a life of liberation, faith, and freedom. Born in Iran, where societal and governmental labels automatically categorized him as a Muslim, Khajeh navigates a path of self-discovery, challenging the expectations placed upon him. In his teenage years, Khajeh finds his true religion in Christianity, a decision that not only defies the labels society imposed on him but also comes with severe consequences in the eyes of the Iranian regime. As he embraces his newfound faith, he experiences a profound sense of comfort, peace, and forgiveness, and his life is transformed in remarkable ways. However, his journey is far from over. The exploration of his faith takes him on a quest to understand the role of fear in Islam and the history of conquests, shedding light on the stark contrast between his newly adopted beliefs and those he left behind. Khajeh's faith journey is more than a personal transformation; it becomes a mission to extend the hand of faith and love to others who may seek the same comfort, peace, security, and freedom he has found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. With genuine compassion, he engages with both Muslims and atheists, inviting them to explore Christianity with open hearts and minds. In a gripping narrative, 'From Labels to Liberation' also delves into the political landscape of Iran, where the government's oppression is religious, tightly intertwined with politics, control, and fear. Khajeh's escape to Sweden in pursuit of a democratic government, free from religious entanglements, is marked by threats, harassment, and challenges, but his commitment to justice, human rights, and a free Iran remains unwavering. This powerful and thought-provoking book is a testament to the strength of faith, the hope of self-discovery, and the unwavering pursuit of justice. Mohsen Khajeh's story will resonate with readers from all walks of life, inspiring them to question labels, embrace their faith, and advocate for a more just and free world.

William Morton A K A Williamstein A Journey To Freedom

BOOK EXCERPT:

The essence of this book is to show how the town that William lives in, got him sectioned in 1989, simply for writing a couple of harmless letters. He asserts that when a female Muslim constituent stabbed her political representative in London, she was never given such draconian treatment, nor afforded any respect whatsoever when he was a well educated graduate. He goes on to add that continually hassled by a local criminal and his associates, something that he did everything humanly possible to avoid, by contacting doctors, social workers, the police, the chief executive of the council, he was one day seriously assaulted. An attempt at murder of to maim. The town stood by as he became ill, as he could not comprehend how someone who assaulted him could not be viewed as a danger to himself and to others. The police stood by, and amazingly those very same police officers were involved in his demise in 1997 for more draconian treatment. He adds that if he had not been ILLEGALLY removed in1989, he would never have suffered again in 1997, as the sheer awesome terror he suffered by brutal psychiatric staff, left him so fearful of standing up for himself, that he was unable to defend himself later in life. His psyche simply collapsed from the sheer terror of it all. Americans may like to know also how he, as a science graduate was denied lucrative employment in 1992 in a then booming world of computers. Politicians state that people need to get educated. William is living proof of just how the system works. He has been deprived of every freedom commensurate with the west, such as sex, children, cars, and the right to own your own home. The book spells it out as it is in 1984 Britain today, where accommodation is racketed. And for those that know nobody, get left to rot.
