Fresh Dialogue 6: Friendly Fire inaugurates a bold new direction for this popular series of roundtable discussions by emerging designers. The new design is leaner and meanermore like a manifesto than a catalogand ready to inspire. The 62 is a Brooklyn-based design and art collective that works with designers, artists, and social and not-for-profit organizations on projects that involve a vision of sustainable culture within a contemporary urban environment. Crye Associates design, engineer, and fabricate everything from light switches and handheld PCs to handgun components and GP racing motorcycles. As lead contractors on the U.S. military's Project Scorpion they are reinventing everything worn or carried by asoldier. In Fresh Dialogue 6, The 62 and Crye Associates discuss their similarities and differences with special emphasis on the large gray area in between.

The AIGA's Fresh Dialogue series brings together emerging designers in annual podium discussions and provides them with a forum to talk about their work, thoughts, and ideas. Fresh Dialogue 7: Making Magazines presents three young publishing gurus who are reinventing how magazines are made.They've thrown off the templates and formulas of traditional publishing in favor of new and innovative approaches to magazine making. Representing the next generation of publishing kingpins, the book features Tod Lippy, creator of the luscious biannual arts publication Esopus; Lisa Farjam, the force behind Middle-East culture magazine Bidoun; and master storyteller David Haskell, editor-in-chief of Topic magazine. The moderator is magazine industry mover, shaker, and supreme tastemaker James Truman.

The inner thoughts, struggles and insights of three young, innovative graphic designers-Jason Fulford, Peter Buchanan-Smith and Leanne Shapton-are explored here. Using the word "spine" as its theme, the book examines the worlds of publishing and self-publishing from the perspective of the graphic designer. Magazine. ReVerb is a design consultancy, research bureau, and trend-watching agency. Led by Somi Kim, Lisa Nugent, and Susan Parr, the 10-year-old company has evolved from an experimental design collective to a hybrid team that provides an integrated approach to the design, messaging, and execution of communications in diverse media.

Taking a Fresh Look at Education: Framing Professional Learning in Education through Self-Study examines the use of self-study in professional learning through justice in education, collaboration, teacher education, and the concept of a Professional Working Theory. Justice in education includes research on pedagogy in inclusive practices, on social justice issues within a doctoral program through the lens of critical race theory, and on indigenous epistemologies and experiences. Collaboration can be seen across several chapters as an integral part of teacher education, and is discussed specifically in chapters addressing research on praxis inquiry within Active Group Practice (a collaborative dynamic) – and on collaboration as a critical aspect of self-study research by teachers addressing efficacy of practice for students with significant disabilities. Included in the discussion on teacher education is research on the beliefs and practices of mid- and later-career literacy/English teacher educators. Professional Working Theory (PWT) addresses the critical aspects of teacher knowledge, experience, and ethics. Specifically, this book includes research on examining the process involved in developing a PWT, on the development of teacher identity of preservice teachers through their engagement in creating PWTs, and on the process of and reflections on developing PWTs with teacher educators and U.A.E. and U.S.A. graduate students within the context of literacy and special education. This book brings to the fore the work of Mary C. Dalmau as a teacher educator whose career embodies the values of inclusion across educational settings, the empowerment of teachers, and the importance of ethics in educational decision making.

With increasing interaction between Eastern and Western theologians, several recent biblical interpreters have characterised Paul's soteriology as theosis, or deification. In response to these affirmations, Ben C. Blackwell explores the anthropological dimension of Paul's soteriology to determine how helpful this characterisation is. Utilising the Wirkungsgeschichte of the Pauline letters, he first examines two Greek patristic interpreters of Paul - Irenaeus and Cyril of Alexandria - to clarify what deification entails and to determine which Pauline texts they used to support their soteriological constructions. The monograph then focuses on Paul's soteriology expressed in Romans 8 and 2 Corinthians 3-5 (with excursus on other passages) and explores how believers embody Christ's death and life, his suffering and glory, through the Spirit. Blackwell concludes with a comparison of deification as presented by these two Greek patristic interpreters and Paul's soteriology, noting the substantial overlap as well as key differences.
