BOOK EXCERPT:
'Shahak has the courage to to say what most Israelis do not dare to say and definitely do not want to hear ... [He] is a knowledgeable insider who builds his argument carefully on the best information ... The lessons to be drawn from what Shahak tells us are self-evident ... Open Secrets and Jewish History, Jewish Religion are two remarkable, powerful and provocative studies offering a penetrating examination of Israeli strategic foreign policies and Jewish religion and history.' London Review Of Books'As a critic of Zionism and as an opponent of Jewish exclusivity, Israel Shahak is special. He possesses in-depth knowledge of Israeli society, Jewish culture and the history of his people. His humanitarian concerns and commitments are extensive; his work as a human rights campaigner ... is enormous ... Shahak provides insights [in Open Secrets] that are often far more penetrating than what has been written by others ... Little of the information and few of the insights in Open Secrets can be found in other books that focus on Israel and the Middle East ... Open Secrets is an excellent book for required reading in History, political science and/or international affairs courses in which there is consideration of Israel in the Middle East.' The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs'Outstanding ... A must not only for the Palestinians, but for anybody interested in Israeli politics' The Jerusalem Times'Offers readers an interesting insight into the mentality of the Zionists, based largely on Hebrew sources which non-Jews are unable to access.' Crescent International

The Middle East remains a veritable powder key after decades of peace processes, wars, accords, discords, agreements, disagreements, suicide bombings, retaliatory attacks, cease-fires, and resume fires. Although the root causes of the flaming conflict are not new, the leaders of the countries involved are a part and parcel of the current situation and its history. This book presents citations to the literature on some of the key players who have shaped the history of this incendiary region of the world.

BOOK EXCERPT:
Chamish has carefully reviewed both the official government position on the Rabin assassination and collected a huge amount of information connected to the event and carefully cross checked it. The Israeli government's official position, supported by a special government commission, is that a lone gunman, Amir, assassinated Rabin. Now learn the truth behind Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin's assassination. Read about ballistics reports and an amateur film of the assassination which was doctored to hide the truth, but helps reveal it. Conflicting testimonies by over a dozen witnesses, including trained police personnel and bodyguards, is presented on how many shots were fired, and where exactly the shots came from; cries that the bullets fired by Amir were blanks, hence harmless, came from these police and bodyguards. There was little attempt to contain the shooter, Amir, before or after the shots were fired; the chain of evidence to the guns and the bullets that reportedly killed Rabin is broken. Rabin's wife was taken to secret service headquarters rather than to the hospital to her husband. Autopsy reports that first indicated the fatal wound was to Rabin's chest were later changed so the bullets came from the back where Amir, the convicted murderer, was standing. The strong possibility is that the fatal shot was administered in the car going to the hospital or in the hospital. Read testimonies that changed over time from the event to the trial of Amir. Chamish reviews the evidence relating to all these details, and more, surrounding the assassination. A far more sinister truth than the official version unfolds. This newly expanded edition reveals the conclusive evidence that dramaticallychanges one's views of the assassination.
