This is an open access book. This proceeding consists of research presented in ICOSI UMY, on 20-21 July 2022 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The conference covers the topic of governance, international relations, law, education, humanities, and social sciences. The COVID-19 pandemic first time that occurred in 2019, has brought many changes that constrain all countries to adapt quickly. The crisis has shown vulnerabilities and gaps in several primary systems, including healthcare, social protection, education, value chains, production networks, financial markets, and the ecosystem. One of the efforts that each country can take to rise from the COVID-19 pandemic is through strengthening multilateralism, international solidarity, and global partnerships. Hence, this conference raises the central theme “Strengthening Global Partnership for Resilience.” This theme covers sub-themes that allow prospective scholars to submit their papers for ‘Virtual Conferences’ presentation under the following scopes: Social Sciences, Humanities, Educations, and Religious Studies. Presented papers will also get a chance to be published in our remarkable partner publishers. Through the International Symposium on Social, Humanities, Education, and Religious Studies (ISSHERS) and Asian Conference on Comparative Laws (Asian-COL), we hope that participants will express their innovative and creative ideas to provide benefits and contribute knowledge to strengthen global partnerships among countries. Finally, all 75 papers published in this proceedings are expected not only as research output but can be developed further into prototypes or evidence for policy making.

This book is based on almost five years of fieldwork with street-related communities in the city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, between 2001 and 2015. The author inquires into children's and adolescents' coming of age on the streets and their remarkable social and emotional competences, instead of resorting to a dreadful discourse of pity and despair. The ethnography's multi-vocal narrative couples vivid accounts of ethnographic case studies and life stories with current theory on affect, emotion, empathy, structural violence or social interaction in the context of marginality, stigma and chronic illness.

This book is the result of intensive and continued discussions about the social role of language and its conceptualisations in societies other than Northern (European-American) ones. Language as a means of expressing as well as evoking both interiority and community has been in the focus of these discussions, led among linguists, anthropologists, and Egyptologists, and leading to a collection of essays that provide studies that transcend previously considered approaches. Its contributions are in particular interested in understanding how the attitude of the individual towards societal processes and strategies of norming is negotiated emotionally, and how individual interests and attitudes can be articulated. Discourses on public spaces are in the focus, in order to analyse those strategies that are employed to articulate dissent (for example, in the sense of face-threatening acts). This raises a number of questions on the spatial and public situatedness of emotions and language: How is the public space dealt with and reflected in language as property, heritage, and as a part of ascribed identities? Which role do emotions play in this space? How is emotion employed there as part of place making in relation to identity constructions? What is the connection between emotion, performance and emblematic spaces and places? Which opportunities of the violation of norms and transgression do such public spaces offer to actors and speakers? These questions intend to address the communicative representation of core cultural processes and concepts.

A readerʼs guide is provided to assist readers in locating entries on related topics. It classifies entries into 14 general categories: Causes, Cities, Demography and Characteristics, Health issues, History, Housing, Legal issues, Advocacy and policy, Lifestyle issues, Organizations, Perceptions of homelessness, Populations, Research, Service systems and settings, World perspectives and issues.

Between Tongues takes the subject of performance translation in a completely new direction. While the topic is often discussed in relation to the translation of dramatic texts, such as Shakespeare in Malay, the authors in this collection examine presentations of traditional and contemporary works in Asia in their original languages before audiences who do not share that language. They also discuss translation as a phenomenon inherent to much performance in Asia, particularly in multilingual settings.

Penggabungan dan pengasingan kaedah kuantitatif dan kualitatif secara teknik 'penyegitigaan' dalam sesuatu kajian diterjemahkan ke dalam buku ini melalui pembentangan projek kajian sebenar. Penyegitigaan ialah strategi, pelan dan struktur yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan jawapan kepada permasalahan yang dikenal pasti pada peringkat awal kajian. Bencana tsunami yang melanda Aceh, Indonesia pada tahun 2004 telah menarik minat penulis untuk menjalankan kajian penilaian kesesuaian tanah untuk petempatan pascabencana dengan menggunakan teknik penyegitigaan ini. Kajian ini dijalankan secara komprehensif berdasarkan persekitaran fizikal dengan mengambil kira risiko bencana dan implikasi sosial. Buku ini diadaptasi daripada tesis doktor falsafah Muhammad Rusdi yang diselia oleh Ruhizal Roosli dan Mohd Sanusi S. Ahamad. Tesis ini telah dinobatkan oleh Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) sebagai Tesis Terbaik dalam Majlis Persada Kencana pada tahun 2017. Walaupun terdapat sejumlah buku di pasaran yang membahaskan garis panduan pembangunan dan teknik penelitian umum penyegitigaan, namun buku-buku tersebut hanya memberikan contoh penggabungan kaedah kuantitatif dan kualitatif tanpa cadangan penyelesaian serta implikasi terhadap polisi pentadbiran dan persekitaran seperti yang dibincangkan dalam buku ini. Malah, buku ini turut memaparkan langkah demi langkah teknik penyegitigaan berdasarkan kajian kes berserta rajah dan penerangan lengkap. Buku ini sesuai dijadikan bahan rujukan bagi pengamal industri, pelajar, ahli akademik dan penyelidik.
