""What shall we do?"" was the question people asked John the Baptist as they came to be baptized. Others asked this question of Jesus during his ministry in Galilee, and of Peter on the Day of Pentecost. After two thousand years, even many confirmed Christians remain confused. May a Christian work on the Sabbath? Is the Sabbath Saturday or Sunday? Must we eat Kosher? Paul said that Christ fulfilled the Law, so what are the rules for today? Must Christians still follow the Ten Commandments, or have all the commandments been abolished in favor of ""love""? If there is no Law, is anything still a sin? What are we required to do, or forbidden to do, and how much can we get away with, and still be saved? The New Testament, especially in the practical teachings of the Apostle Paul, contains adequate answers to many of these questions and provides principles for making Godly decisions even on debatable matters never dreamt of two thousand years ago.

As a poor farm boy who was inured to hard labor, Thomas Josiah Kinard I (1889-1971) chopped cotton and harvested timber in the Piney Woods of Polk County. He had already felt the call of God on his life before he received the Pentecostal Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1915. When war came, he was ready and willing to answer the call of his country as well as his God. He participated in four major offenses France, then marched into Germany to serve in the Army of Occupation. After the War, Tom Kinard founded several Assemblies of God churches and pastored others, while working full-time at the huge Humble refinery in Baytown, Texas. He wrote: ""I did not mind one bit, this was my country, and my people, and I loved it better than ever before, and tomorrow I will get my Discharge, and go back to my home and loved ones that I have not seen in twenty-three months, with the feeling that I had tried to be a good soldier, for my country in the time of this great struggle against the forces of evil.""

This relatively brief letter from the Apostle Paul is far more important to Christians than its volume may signify. As the title of this study indicates, the content of Paul's letter to the Galatians "changes everything" in the sense that following Christ is a radical departure from living without Him. However, since human nature seems to insist that one's salvation is brought about by personal deeds that obligate God to save them, the doctrine and theology found in these pages is exceptionally important. Thus, the urgent need for Paul's testimony of justification by faith in Christ to the Galatians.

Cursed is the one who will not uphold the words of this Torah, to perform them; and the entire people shall say, Amen (Deut. 27:26 TJB). King David wrote of Torah: The law of the Lord is perfect, converting my soul . . . the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes (Ps. 19:78). He also wrote, I will delight myself in Your statutes, I will not forget Your word. . . . Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it . . . I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I love. . . . Your statutes have been my songs, in the house of my pilgrimage. . . . The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy, teach me Your statutes (Ps. 119) Centuries later, Martin Luther wrote: The law, when it is in its true sense, doth nothing else but reveal sin, engender wrath, accuse and terrify men, so that it bringeth them to the very brink of desperation. This is the proper use of the law, and here it hath an end, and it ought to go no further. Who was right? Was the Torah a gracious gift of a loving God, providing guidance for all generations and for all time, or was its giving a malicious act of God against the children of Israel? Did Jesus fulfill the law in such a way as to be not applicable to his followers even though his early followers, the apostles, and disciples did not believe so, continuing to be Torah observant and practicing Judaism in a Messianic context? When the Church of Rome condemned the Nazarenes as heretics, were they not also proclaiming the Jewish followers of Jesus as heretics, including the twelve apostles? This study attempts to answer those questions.
