This symposium was organized in order to discuss recent developments and future perspectives in intermediate-energy heavy-ion physics. The subjects included sub-barrier fusion, superheavy elements, fission; halo, skin nuclei; multi-fragmentation, collective flow, compression; properties of hot nuclei; high spin and exotic nuclear shapes; nuclear astrophysics; applications; facilities.

This volume presents introductory lectures on the Standard Model and Higgs physics, as well as QCD. These lectures provided the particle physics background for the main topics of the school: astroparticle physics and modern cosmology.

This proceedings volume covers the main fields of mathematics: analysis, algebra and number theory, geometry and topology, combinatorics and graphs, applied mathematics, numerical analysis and computer mathematics, probability and statistics, teaching and popularization of mathematics.

The following topics were covered: the study of renormalization group flows between field theories using the methods of quantum integrability, S-matrix theory and the thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz; impurity problems approached both from the point of view of conformal field theory and quantum integrability. This includes the Kondo effect and quantum wires; solvable models with 1/r² interactions (Haldane-Shastri models). Yangian symmetries in 1/r² models and in conformal field theories; correlation functions in integrable 1+1 field theories; integrability in three dimensions; conformal invariance and the quantum hall effect; supersymmetry in statistical mechanics; and relations to two-dimensional Yang-Mills and QCD.

Professor Jerzy Lukierski, an outstanding specialist in the domain of quantum groups, will reach on May 21, 1995 the age of sixty. This is a birthday volume dedicated to him. It assumes the form of a collection of papers on a wide range of topics in modern research area from theoretical high energy physics to mathematical physics. Various topics of quantum groups will be treated with a special emphasis. Quantum groups is nowadays a very fashionable subject both in mathematics and high energy physics.
