This book is the result of the first International Conference ICT Innovations 2009. The ICT Innovations conference is the primary scientific action of the Macedonian Society on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT-ACT). It promotes the publication of scientific results of the international community related to innovative fundamental and applied research in ICT. Today, ICT has enlarged its horizons and it is practiced under multidisciplinary contexts that introduce new challenges to theore- cal and technical approaches. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Data-Driven Innovation, ICT Innovations 2017, held in Skopje, Macedonia, in September 2017. The 26 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 90 submissions. Production and innovation activities are being re-distributed across the world. The BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) are proving the major engine of global growth, being less impacted by the financial crisis than developed economies or able to recover more quickly. Asia in the Global ICT Innovation Network takes a close look at the information and communication technologies (ICTs) landscape, not only in two BRICS countries, India and China, but also in South Korea and Taiwan. This book presents the concept of cryptcoding which arises from the need to obtain secure and accurate transmission. Therefore, it is necessary to improve constantly existing and develop new algorithms that will ensure accurate and secure data transfer. This leads to the intensive development of coding theory and cryptography as scientific fields which solve these problems. To ensure efficient and secure data transmission at the same time, the concept of cryptcoding is developed such that the coding and encryption processes are merged into one process. Cryptcodes provide correction of a certain number of errors in the transmitted message and data confidentiality, using only one algorithm. The main research in this field is to define new algorithms for coding that detects and corrects errors, random codes, stream ciphers, block ciphers, pseudo-random generators, hash functions, etc. This monograph examines an application of quasigroups for designing error-correcting cryptcodes, called Random Codes Based on Quasigroups (RCBQ ). These codes are a combination of cryptographic algorithms and error-correcting codes and depend on several parameters. Some modifications (new coding/decoding algorithms) of RCBQ for improving their performances for transmission ordinary messages, images, and audio files trough a binary-symmetric channel, Gaussian channel, and burst channels are considered. Also, authors propose and analyze filter for visually enhance of the decoded images and improving the quality of decoded audio files.

The International Conference on ICT Innovations was held in September 2016, in Ohrid, Macedonia, with the main topic “Cognitive Functions and Next Generation ICT Systems”. We live in the era where technologies are intimately woven into virtually all aspects of daily life and are becoming almost invisible. While these technologies have considerable benefits, they also have a number of shortcomings and unforeseen consequences. For example, on the one hand, bodily sensors that track physical activity, physiological parameters and sleep patterns can help promote healthy habits and can enable early detection of problems. ICT Innovations for Sustainability is an investigation of how information and communication technology can contribute to sustainable development.
