This is an open access book. With the support of universities and the research of AEIC Academic Exchange Center, The 2nd International Conference on Economic Development and Business Culture (ICEDBC 2022) will be held in Dali from June 24th to 26th. Compared with previous conferences, it will discuss more in-depth economic independent innovation, open cooperation and innovative business culture under the background of the new development stage, new situation and new journey era. Can firms and economies utilize global value chains for development? How can they move from low-income to middle-income and even high-income status? Innovation is widely recognized as a major source of modern productivity growth. Indeed, it is seen as constituting a central process of economic advancement in industrialized countries. Despite this, a considerable gap still exists in knowledge and technological capability between industrialized countries and the more dynamic developing countries such as China. China has become an innovation powerhouse in high-tech industries, but the widely held view assumes the Chinese model is built on technological borrowing and state capitalism. This book debunks the myths surrounding the Chinese model with a fresh take on China’s strategies for technological innovation. There is a large literature dealing with the spillover effects of foreign direct investment (FDI) flows to emerging and developing economies at the aggregate level.
