This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 39th International Conference on Current Trends in Theory and Practice of Computer Science, SOFSEM 2013, held in Špindlerův Mlýn, Czech Republic, in January 2013. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the 24th International Conference on Concurrency Theory, CONCUR 2013, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 27-30, 2013. The 34 revised full papers presented together with 4 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from 115 submissions. The papers are organized in topics such as process semantics and modal transition systems, VAS and pushdown systems, Pi calculus and interaction nets, linearizability and verification of concurrent programs, verification of infinite models, model measure and reversibility, stochastic models, message-based interaction processes, principles of automatic verification, and games and control synthesis.

Aerodynamics and hydrodynamics are still the main domains that make greater use of flow visualization and classical optical techniques such as schlieren and interferometry than of more recent techniques such as holography speckle, laser light sheets, laser-induced tracers and laser-induced fluorescence. A number of studies are now under way on turbulent and vortex flows, within boundary layers or wakes, in the mixing layer of two flows. Other studies concern jets, two-phase flows and air-water interface. To review and discuss developments in flow visualization, four international symposia have been held. Following Tokyo, Bochum and Ann Arbor, the Fourth International Symposium on Flow Visualization (ISFV 4) was held in Paris in August 1986.

This book explains advanced theoretical and application-related issues in grammatical inference, a research area inside the inductive inference paradigm for machine learning. The first three chapters of the book deal with issues regarding theoretical learning frameworks; the next four chapters focus on the main classes of formal languages according to Chomsky's hierarchy, in particular regular and context-free languages; and the final chapter addresses the processing of biosequences. The topics chosen are of foundational interest with relatively mature and established results, algorithms and conclusions.
