Justice Mercy Or Grace

BOOK EXCERPT:

That evening, an ominous weather storm produced an unexpected amount of rain. A torrential downpour of water flooded the roads, and caused them to be extremely slippery! Suddenly, another car appeared from out of nowhere. It came up quickly and tailgated Johns car. Dangerously swerving back and forth, the driver attempted to pass on our narrow, two-lane road. Without warning, this driver stepped on his gas, and moved into the opposing lane to race past Johns car. He nearly whipped around; but, instead, slid on the wet pavement, and slammed into the side of Johns car.The impact launched each vehicle into mid-air flight. After both cars went soaring, they bounced back onto the road and skidded out of control. Each car hydroplaned over the slick glassy surface and ended up on opposite sides of the dark wet road. With broken ribs and a bloody face, the driver stumbled out of his car. He fell onto the side of the road, and tried to see what resulted from the accident he had caused. The traumatized man was dreadfully injured, but he would be all right. What about John? you ask.

The Spirit Of Love Mercy And Grace

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

The Spirit of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Love, Mercy, and Grace. The Blood, which Jesus Christ shed...is very valuable to God; and He wants all men to be cleansed and washed by it. Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ; but the Law was given through Moses. And we operate by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Who is the Spirit of Grace and Truth. We are to put our minds and motives on love, grace, mercy, and Truth, instead of on the spirit/attitude/motive of 'tit for tat'. The spirit whose aim is to be destroying men's lives is not the Spirit of God, but carnal spirit and the spirit of the devil. But this does not mean that God cannot kill somebody in this New Testament dispensation, because He can kill now. However, He kills and destroys at His Discretion, Wisdom, and Decision. But the kind of desire, prayer, motive, and attitude, whose aim is human destruction, comes from unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, and revenge. It is contrary to the Holy Spirit and Spirit of Christ Jesus our Lord.

Seven Truths About Grace

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Think of justice, mercy and grace. If we are guilty, then we deserve justice. Or if we are guilty maybe we can hope for mercy. Grace is completely different. Yes, we are guilty, but through the death of Jesus on the cross we are justified ‒ made “Just as if I’d never sinned,” That’s an example of Grace. We are saved by grace, through faith (Ephesians 2:4-6). It is the gift of God. We can’t earn it. Grace is the undeserved favour of God. God fully accepts us through the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. We are clothed in His righteousness.

Saved By Grace Liberal In Mercy

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

In proud tradition of the Southern storyteller, author Mike Cowan shares stories from his life that have molded him into the rarest of creatures, a White, evangelical Christian and a bleeding-heart, liberal Democrat. From conversion as a child through spiritual formation as an adult, Cowan recounts the struggles he has faced in a church that was founded in defense of the evil of slavery and the consequent vestiges of systemic racism, in a church that has increasingly dallied with the chauvinism of Christian nationalism, and in a church that is currently in a season of reckoning about congregant sexual abuse by clergy and the disgrace of deception by executive denominational leadership. Through it all, from the enduring influence of parents and grandparents, yellow-dog Democrats all, Cowan details his commitment of the next season of his life in support of voting rights, public education, gun control and the science of climate change. The longer we live, the more we understand life is a delicate balance of competing forces. In Saved by Grace, Liberal in Mercy, Cowan navigates one of our greatest cultural divides and lives to celebrate it.

Shakespeare S Twenty First Century Economics

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

"I love you according to my bond," says Cordelia to her father in King Lear. As the play turns out, Cordelia proves to be an exemplary and loving daughter. A bond is both a legal or financial obligation, and a connection of mutual love. How are these things connected? In As You Like It, Shakespeare describes marriage as a "blessed bond of board and bed": the emotional, religious, and sexual sides of marriage cannot be detached from its status as a legal and economic contract. These examples are the pith of Frederick Turner's fascinating new book. Based on the proven maxim that "money makes the world go round," this engaging study draws from Shakespeare's texts to present a lexicon of common words, as well as a variety of familiar familial and cultural situations, in an economic context. Making constant recourse to well-known material from Shakespeare's plays, Turner demonstrates that the terms of money and value permeate our minds and lives even in our most mundane moments. His book offers a new, humane, evolutionary economics that fully expresses the moral, spiritual, and aesthetic relationships among persons, and between humans and nature. Playful and incisive, Turner's book offers a way to engage the wisdom of Shakespeare in everyday life in a trenchant prose that is accessible to lovers of Shakespeare at all levels.
