Economic research study of problems in Latin America associated with the heavy dependence of maintaining a satisfactory balance of payments on export trade in raw materials, and examination of some programmes designed to stabilise and enlarge the flow of foreign exchange receipts from such export trade. The study analyses the applicable provisions of the United States tax system as well as proposals for change under discussion at the time, highlighting their implications for the business decisions of US investors in Latin America.
