The ICETE Programme for Academic Leadership (IPAL) was officially established in 2010 and arose out of the need to provide training to theological institutions in different regions of the world. IPAL provides a three-year cycle of seminars for the professional development of evangelical academic leaders and administrators to help institutions in their pursuit of quality and excellence in theological education. This publication is the second of three volumes intended to accompany and support the IPAL seminars as well as independently providing wider access to the principles required by academic leaders for institutional and curriculum development. Each chapter shares and illustrates the expertise and understanding the contributors have of education and curriculum design in the field of evangelical academic institutions. With an intentional awareness of a wide range of non-Western contexts, this volume is a much-needed guide for course administrators around the world.

Faculty development is at the heart of theological education. This book lays the foundation for institutions to equip, train and release emerging academic leaders to advance their careers and improve the standards of their teaching and research. The contributors to this volume share the findings of research conducted at evangelical academic institutions in various contexts around the world so other senior administrators can enhance the quality of theological education at their own institution.

Zimbabwe has invested in women’s emancipation and leadership while articulating a strong Pan-Africanist ideology, providing a valuable entry point into understanding the dynamics relating to women’s leadership in Africa. It is also characterised by radical religious pluralism, thereby facilitating an appreciation of the impact of religion on women’s leadership in Africa more generally. This volume reflects on the role of Zimbabwean women in religio-cultural leadership, with a specific focus on roles within religious organizations. It begins by examining Zimbabwean church women’s leadership roles in long established faith communities. The chapters then hone in on the emergence of churches or ministries founded by women in Zimbabwe, starting from the pre-colonial era and advancing through the last forty years of independence. Hence, the book offers a comprehensive assessment of the challenges and opportunities women in leadership face in religious institutions in the country, before exploring the impact of the pandemic on the ability of women to lead. It will make a major contribution to the advancement of scholarship of gender and leadership in emerging markets.

Today, women are assuming greater roles within the workplace and men are assuming greater roles within the home. Both spheres have to be seen as a place where males and females are competent. Gersick suggests that women have to let go of the traditional identities related to social role, family, and work. Both men and women have to step into new identities and develop new roles. Will the home look different and the workplace be a different environment? Absolutely, men will do their work in their way within the family and home, while women will clarify their identity within the workplace. Helgessen and Johnson (2010) describe the “female vision” which views the world differently than men. Women also bring a unique perspective to the workplace. This book encourages us to explore, embrace and celebrate these new identities within the workplace and the family.

Post-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) realities are challenging leaders in all spheres of society in many ways. From the onset of the pandemic, leaders on every level were challenged to provide appropriate guidance in the face of new and adverse realities. The estimated Hispanic population of the United States was 45.5 million in 2007, making people of Hispanic origin the nation's largest ethnic or race minority. Hispanics constitute 15 percent of the nation's total population.The Latino population in the United States will triple in size, and according to the Census projections, Hispanics will make up 29 percent of the United States population by 2050.This book offers suggestions for training Hispanic leaders who will be involved in ministry in various regions of the United States. The findings of this research project produced information, understanding, and direction that can contribute to the imperative efforts to train emerging leaders for Hispanic groups everywhere.The principles revealed in this study of Hispanic leadership training will prove effective in empowering leaders of other groups in the United States and other countries.
