The Quintessential Jesus Of Nazareth

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Penned by Allison Sledge, The Quintessential Jesus of Nazareth is a penetrating, intellectually profound masterpiece of the Highest Order. Ms. Sledge is a premier scholar of gnosticism, comparative religion, Biblical nomenclature, symbolism, onomastics, metaphysics, kaballah, mysticism and spiritual initiation. Her book transports the reader beyond space and time - into the mind, heart, spirit and soul of The Master Jesus, on every conceivable level which is not generally known to the masses. Many of the Holy Scriptures chapters and verses will be viewed from a different perspective; as was once perceived with the universal eyes with which Jesus viewed the world, rather than what many of the modern clergy promulgate and attempt to teach the majority of unenlightened souls. This book is designed to enlighten each reader to depths they might not have ever imagined Never before has a writer dared to be so bold as to interpret the Natal Birth Chart of Jesus Christ, a Piscean, born on March 19th, 07 BC, while elevating and re-creating awareness, understanding and insight to completely new heights of all inclusive universal comprehension. This Authors book was written in a stream of consciousness with God, emanating from her deep connection with Jesus of Nazareth. Intertwining her personal observations within the subject matter, Allison Sledge methodically includes the works of Edgar Cayce, The Keys of Enoch, The Aquarian Gospel and Egyptology. She engages her familiarity with science, mathematics, planetary energies, and Biblical personalities. Her work highlights the thread of unity, which connects the Old Testament with the New Testament in symbolic patterns, from Genesis to Revelations. Her goal is to be inclusive rather than exclusive, thus incorporating differing thoughts and opinions into the ultimate reality that We Are All One, despite our conflicting beliefs; just as Jesus taught. Contemplating the reality and purpose of human existence surely must lead us to wonder how we, as human beings created in the image of God, do not truly know God as Jesus. There is a disconnection. Even more profound is the fact that Jesus, The Christ, died a horrendous death by execution in order to instill in each one of us His everlasting message: That we love one another as we love ourselves... Sadly, the state of the world today reflects the exact opposite of His hopes and wishes. The Book, now in your hands, was given to you to know the Real Jesus of Nazareth, inside and out, like you have never, ever known before. Enjoy it, and God Bless You.

Jesus Of Nazareth

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Building on the work of biblical scholars—Rudolph Bultmann, Raymond Brown, Jane Schaberg, and Robert Funk, among others—filmmaker Paul Verhoeven disrobes the mythical Jesus to reveal a man who has much in common with other great political leaders throughout history—human beings who believed that change was coming in their lifetimes. Gone is the Jesus of the miracles, gone the son of God, gone the weaver of arcane parables whose meanings are obscure. In their place Verhoeven gives us his vision of Jesus as a complete man, someone who was changed by events, the leader of a political movement, and, perhaps most importantly, someone who, in his speeches and sayings, introduced a new ethic in which the embrace of human contradictions transcends the mechanics of value and worth that had defined the material world before Jesus. "The Romans saw [Jesus] as an insurrectionist, what today is often called a terrorist. It is very likely there were ‘wanted’ posters of him on the gates of Jerusalem. He was dangerous because he was proclaiming the Kingdom of Heaven, but this wasn’t the Kingdom of Heaven as we think of it now, some spectral thing in the future, up in the sky. For Jesus, the Kingdom of Heaven was a very tangible thing. Something that was already present on Earth, in the same way that Che Guevara proclaimed Marxism as the advent of world change. If you were totalitarian rulers, running an occupation like the Romans, this was troubling talk, and that was why Jesus was killed." —Paul Verhoeven, from profile by Mark Jacobson in New York Magazine

Life At Nazareth Academy And College Nazareth Kentucky

BOOK EXCERPT:

Take this wonderful journey back to the 1950's and learn all about what life was like at a Catholic boarding school and college! This compilation of letters written during the 1950's gives a detailed look inside Nazareth Academy and College in Nazareth, Kentucky. The following comment is from the author of the actual letters included in this book: I was given the opportunity to attend Nazareth Academy in 1951 and stayed for six years, graduating from Nazareth College in 1957. I consider this one of the greatest blessings of my life. Even after fifty plus years, the values and education I received from the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth are a part of my daily life. My stepmother, Rhoda Martin, saved all the letters I wrote home, an entire six years worth! I had so much fun "remembering" the people and events I had long forgotten. The letters give a glimpse into what life was like as a student in the Academy and College in the 1950's.

The Trials Crucifixion And Burial Of Jesus Of Nazareth

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

No event in the history of humankind has elicited more comment or sparked more controversy than the trials, crucifixion, and burial of Jesus of Nazareth. The Trials, Crucifixion, and Burial of Jesus of Nazareth investigates each of these events in much detail from the historical, archaeological, theological, geographical, and biblical viewpoints. The book distinguishes between the late-night, hurriedly called meeting of a quorum of Sanhedrin members and the official meeting in the Chamber of Hewn Stone the next morning. It examines the ten charges made against Jesus and why they changed so often throughout his trial. It also investigates the twenty-five obvious irregularities from Jewish law that were evident in Jesus’ trial. Explored is the legitimacy of applying Mishnaic law to a first-century trial. Every suggested location for the trial and crucifixion of the Master is explored along with the question “Did Jesus really die, and does it matter?” Finally, a complete inventory of Jesus’ physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering between Gethsemane and Golgotha is provided along with appropriate comments. This book is something of a one-stop shop for all things related to the trials, crucifixion, and burial of Jesus.

Judas Of Nazareth

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

An investigation into the historical Jesus and the veracity of the Gospels • Reveals the biblical Jesus as a composite figure, a blend of the political revolutionary Judas the Galilean and Paul’s divine-human Christ figure • Matches the events depicted in the New Testament with historically verifiable events in Josephus’ history, pushing Jesus’ life back more than a decade • Demonstrates how each New Testament Gospel is dependent upon Paul’s mythologized Christ theology, designed to promote Paul’s Christianity and serve the interests of the fledgling Gentile Christian communities Scholars have spent years questioning aspects of the historical Jesus. How can we know what Jesus said and did when Jesus himself wrote nothing? Can we trust the Gospels, written by unknown authors 40 to 70 years after Jesus’ death? And why do other sources from the time not speak of this messianic figure known as Christ? Drawing on the histories of Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius, and Pliny as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls, Daniel Unterbrink contends that the “Jesus” of the Bible was actually a composite figure, a clever blend of the Jewish freedom-fighter Judas the Galilean and Paul’s divine-human Christ figure created in the middle of the first century CE. Revealing why Paul was known as a liar, enemy, and traitor in other Jewish literature, he shows that the New Testament Gospels are not transcripts of actual history but creative works of historical fiction designed to promote Paul’s Christianity and serve the interests of the fledgling Gentile Christian communities. He demonstrates how each Gospel is written in light of the success of Paul’s religion and dependent upon his later perspective. Matching the events depicted in the New Testament with the historically verifiable events in Josephus’ history, Unterbrink pushes the dating of Jesus’ life back nearly a generation to a revolutionary time in ancient Judea. He shows that the real historical Jesus--the physical man behind the fictional stories in Paul’s Gospels--was Judas the Galilean: a messianic pretender and Torah-observant revolutionary bent on overthrowing the Roman government and galvanizing the Jewish people behind his vision of the coming Kingdom of God. In the greatest cover-up of history, this teacher of first-century Israel was replaced by the literary creation known as Jesus of Nazareth.

The De Judaization Of The Image Of Jesus Of Nazareth The Virgin Mary At The Time Of The Holocaust Ensoulment And The Human Ovum

eBook Download

BOOK EXCERPT:

Thomas has been researching his family's Jewish background for the last thirty years. Herein he investigates how his Jewish grandparents, and aunt-defined as a nonprivileged Mischling, survived the war while living in the heart of Nazi Germany. This led Thomas to research Hitler's fear of having partial Jewish ancestry and expanded into a full-blown study of following Christianity’s understanding of the Jewish identity of Jesus of Nazareth throughout history. Not leaving matters here, Thomas outlines how Marian dogmatic theology, used at the time of the Shoah, brought to conclusion the Church's long journey in defining the "time" of ensoulment as articulated in the papal document Ineffabilis Deus, promulgated by Pius in 1854. This happened twenty-seven years after the discovery of the human ovum in 1827 by Karl Ernst von Baer. Years later, with the emergence of Nazi racial ideology, many anti-Christian Christians attempted to invert Christianity's core message of salvation through faith toward biological ends. This would not do. Roman authorities had consistently held throughout the centuries that faith is about salvation and not about biology. According to that same end, the "ideal" of ensoulment, since the time of the Church's renewed understanding of it—beginning in 1854—and indeed as it was first articulated through the writings of Aristotle and received into Christianity through the writings of Saint Augustine and later Thomas Aquinas—was newly preserved within the confines of Western civilization. This is the first book, the author knows of, that follows Augustine's concept of ensoulment, as well as Aquinas's thinking on the matter, while linking these to Karl Ernst von Baer's discovery of the human ovum in 1827, up until the events of Shoah and beyond. This study is phenomenological in nature in that it does "not" follow Jesus of Nazareth (the Virgin Mary) throughout history, but rather follows the "image" of Jesus of Nazareth (the Virgin Mary)—a monumental difference. This study supports the Second Vatican Council, the Church's latest and ongoing efforts in affirming the Jewish identities of both Jesus of Nazareth and the Virgin Mary, John Paul II's call for a purification of memory beginning in a year of Jubilee, as well as the many present efforts in Catholic-Jewish relations. This study builds upon the author's past article: "Following the Virgin Mary through Auschwitz: Marian Dogmatic Theology at the Time of the Shoah," published in Holocaust Studies: A Journal of Culture and History, Vol. 14, winter 2008, No. 3, pp. 1-24.
