Young Anneese Beasley lives in a home with her dysfunctional family. Her father works constantly, and she doesnt have a relationship with her mother, who drinks a lot and hasnt been professionally diagnosed as an alcoholic. They live in a ranch-style house in Atlanta, Georgia, with a large backyard. Anneese carries a doll around that her mother cant stand. Anneese wants to have a relationship with her mother. Her mother and father fight a lot at night. She only has her doll to talk to and trust.

This is the poetry that you and I sit and write when the day has left us and our pen is itching to be written with. The night calls us up, our phones are on silent, but we keep it in our hands anyway, pretending and unpretending like our almost lovers do. So, we write the words that beg to be written.

The story, "Love Comes in Many Colors" starts in 1875 as the McGinnis family, of Irish decent, starts west by wagon train. After wintering over in Santa Fe, in the New Mexico Territory, the family moves to the small mountainous mining town of Silver City which was in the southwest part of the territory. The story also entails the Christian community who work together to care for the sick, hungry and homeless people in the town, and their everyday lives as they face the dangers within the mining town. I was born in a small town in Southern California. When I was fifty years old, my family moved to New Mexico; first into the desert, and then to the mountainous mining town of Silver City. Now, living in the old west of the cowboy era, I became fascinated with the history of the area. From that, I began to form a story in my mind, about an Irish family that came west, arriving in 1875. I am now eighty-three years young, and have thoroughly enjoyed my adventure in writing this novel; "Love Comes in Many Colors".

From the daily bumps to the devastating and unthinkable events that can assail us, there is a way through that leaves us stronger, wiser, and oftentimes able to see life through a larger perspective. Our seemingly small lives also carry the seed for changing more than our own small personal world; they can grow in influence and change those around us as we consciously evolve and model a triumphant spirit.
