Magnetosphere and Solar Winds, Humans and Communication consists of ten chapters organized into two sections. The first section presents a full description of the magnetosphere and its effect on the solar wind, climatic modes, the Polar Cap index in relation to magnetosphere disturbances (substorms and magnetic storms), recent developments and challenges in developed ionosphere models, and more. The second section discusses solar flux, solar proton activity over the solar cycle, temporal variation of the sun’s activity, and macroscopic scales of spin.

This is the second book of the author, in which she further clarified her views on the world: human beings have important omissions in their understanding of the world. Some omissions, especially some intentional or unintentional neglect of other dimensions or other worlds, have caused human beings to act inappropriately, resulting in some consequences that they have great difficulties to bear. Humans’ rapid thinking about this may help them out of some predicaments. Human beings have long time confused invisible and non-existent. Being honest about the limitations of their cognitive abilities may make them more respectful to creatures in other worlds. The temporary safety of mankind may have stemmed from the tolerance of other worlds. But human beings are very anxious to use some hypotheses to force conclusions that certain worlds do not exist. They never even examined the source of their anxiety.

Starting from Newton’s times this follow-up to the author’s Springer book “Our Place in the Universe - Understanding Fundamental Astronomy from Ancient Discoveries” addresses the question of “our place in the Universe” from astronomical, physical, chemical, biological, philosophical and social perspectives. Using the history of astronomy to illustrate the process of discovery, the emphasis is on the description of the process of how we learned and on the exploration of the impacts of discoveries rather than on the presentation of facts. Thus readers are informed of the influence of science on a broad scale. Unlike the traditional way of teaching science, in this book, the author begins by describing the observations and then discusses various attempts to find answers (including unsuccessful ones). The goal is to help students develop a better appreciation of the scientific process and learn from this process to tackle real-life problems.
