Covers the proceedings of the 1993 Georgia International Topology Conference held at the University of Georgia during the month of August. This work includes Kirby's problem list, which contains a description of the progress made on each of the problems and includes a bibliography. It is suitable for those interested in the many areas of topology.

This proceedings is a collection of articles in several complex variables with emphasis on geometric methods and results, which includes several survey papers reviewing the development of the topics in these decades. Through this volume one can see an active field providing insight into other fields like algebraic geometry, dynamical systems and partial differential equations.

This book surveys progress in the domains described in the hitherto unpublished manuscript "Esquisse d'un Programme" (Sketch of a Program) by Alexander Grothendieck. It will be of wide interest amongst workers in algebraic geometry, number theory, algebra and topology.

This volume contains the proceedings of the conference "Colloque de Goometrie Symplectique et Physique Mathematique" which was held in Aix-en-Provence (France), June 11-15, 1990, in honor of Jean-Marie Souriau. The conference was one in the series of international meetings of the Seminaire Sud Rhodanien de Goometrie, an organization of geometers and mathematical physicists at the Universities of Avignon, Lyon, Mar seille, and Montpellier. The scientific interests of Souriau, one of the founders of geometric quantization, range from classical mechanics (symplectic geometry) and quantization problems to general relativity and astrophysics. The themes of this conference cover "only" the first two of these four areas. The subjects treated in this volume could be classified in the follow ing way: symplectic and Poisson geometry (Arms-Wilbour, Bloch-Ratiu, Brylinski-Kostant, Cushman-Sjamaar, Dufour, Lichnerowicz, Medina, Ouzilou), classical mechanics (Benenti, Holm-Marsden, Marle) , particles and fields in physics (Garcia Perez-Munoz Masque, Gotay, Montgomery, Ne'eman-Sternberg, Sniatycki) and quantization (Blattner, Huebschmann, Karasev, Rawnsley, Roger, Rosso, Weinstein). However, these subjects are so interrelated that a classification by headings such as "pure differential geometry, applications of Lie groups, constrained systems in physics, etc. ," would have produced a completely different clustering! The list of authors is not quite identical to the list of speakers at the conference. M. Karasev was invited but unable to attend; C. Itzykson and M. Vergne spoke on work which is represented here only by the title of Itzykson's talk (Surfaces triangulees et integration matricielle) and a summary of Vergne's talk.

"Visions in Mathematics - Towards 2000" was one of the most remarkable mathematical meetings in recent years. It was held in Tel Aviv from August 25th to September 3rd, 1999, and united some of the leading mathematicians worldwide. The goals of the conference were to discuss the importance, the methods, the past and the future of mathematics as we enter the 21st century and to consider the connection between mathematics and related areas. The aims of the conference are reflected in the present set of survey articles, documenting the state of art and future prospects in many branches of mathematics of current interest. This is the first part of a two-volume set that will serve any research mathematician or advanced student as an overview and guideline through the multifaceted body of mathematical research in the present and near future.

During the last 20 years, ``localization'' has been one of the dominant themes in the area of equivariant differential geometry. Typical results are the Duistermaat-Heckman theory, the Berline-Vergne-Atiyah-Bott localization theorem in equivariant de Rham theory, and the ``quantization commutes with reduction'' theorem and its various corollaries. To formulate the idea that these theorems are all consequences of a single result involving equivariant cobordisms, the authors have developed a cobordism theory that allows the objects to be non-compact manifolds. A key ingredient in this non-compact cobordism is an equivariant-geometrical object which they call an ``abstract moment map''. This is a natural and important generalization of the notion of a moment map occurring in the theory of Hamiltonian dynamics. The book contains a number of appendices that include introductions to proper group-actions on manifolds, equivariant cohomology, Spin${^\mathrm{c}}$-structures, and stable complex structures. It is geared toward graduate students and research mathematicians interested in differential geometry. It is also suitable for topologists, Lie theorists, combinatorists, and theoretical physicists. Prerequisite is some expertise in calculus on manifolds and basic graduate-level differential geometry.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 2015 Clifford Lectures on Algebraic Groups: Structures and Actions, held from March 2–5, 2015, at Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana. This volume consists of six articles on algebraic groups, including an enhanced exposition of the classical results of Chevalley and Rosenlicht on the structure of algebraic groups; an enhanced survey of the recently developed theory of pseudo-reductive groups; and an exposition of the recently developed operational -theory for singular varieties. In addition, there are three research articles containing previously unpublished foundational results on birational automorphism groups of algebraic varieties; solution of Hermite-Joubert problem over -closed fields; and cohomological invariants and applications to classifying spaces. The old and new results presented in these articles will hopefully become cornerstones for the future development of the theory of algebraic groups and applications. Graduate students and researchers working in the fields of algebraic geometry, number theory, and representation theory will benefit from this unique and broad compilation of fundamental results on algebraic group theory.
