This book contains the proceedings of the 3rd Multidisciplinary International Conference (MIC) 2023, an annual event hosted by Nusantara Training and Research (NTR). This event was held in collaboration with Nusantara Training and Research (NTR) with Borobudur University, Jakarta. It was held on a virtual conference on 28 October 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The theme of this year's conference was "Scientific Innovation in The Digital Age" which aimed to explore the latest technological advancements and their implications in various scientific fields, including social science, economics, education, law, engineering, religion, and other sciences. This conference was attended by participants and delegates from various universities from Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Australia, and Japan. More than 100 participants from academics, practitioners, and bureaucrats took part in this event to exchange knowledge according to their research results and competencies.

Please note that to be considered for this collection, the first author or at least one corresponding author should be a researcher who identifies as a woman. After the well-received 2022 collection, Frontiers in Microbiology is proud to host this Research Topic celebrating women’s work and achievements in the field of Antimicrobials, Resistance and Chemotherapy. Alongside International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month 2023, we will collectively embrace equity in the microbiology community. There is continued gender disparity within core STEM subjects. According to UNESCO Institute for Statistics, just 33% of the world's researchers are women. While the number of women attending university is growing, they still represent the minority of doctoral students and researchers. Women remain under-represented in the highest level of academia, holding just 26% of full professorships. This is even more skewed in industry with just 3% of STEM industry CEOs being women. As highlighted by UNESCO, science and gender equality are essential to ensure sustainable development.

This is an open access book. In light of the rising Southeast Asia in the centre of knowledge production, the Department of International Relations, the University of Mataram seeks to explore more wide-ranging topics of migration and development. Therefore, we plan to organize Southeast Asian Conference on Migration and Development (SeaCMD), which will take place on Lombok Island of West Nusa Tenggara Province in Indonesia. We encourage a broad range of scholars including researchers, lecturers, policymakers, research consultants, and postgraduate scholars to share their ongoing research or promote their past papers at this conference.
