My poems are all about the things we all see, hear, feel and experience as human beings. Full of emotions and tensions that drive our lives and our existence. My poems are about what I experience and feel and what I go through in life.

A World through my eyes is a book about my personal thoughts, pain, love, and a lot more. I am hoping that the message I am trying to get across does. I hope that you will be able to relate to some of these times and know that its ok to express yourself. I have been writing since I was very young. I have my family and close friends to thank for inspiring me to write this book and let the world know youre not alone. Life Through My Eyes: A Collection of Poetry is a glimpse into the life of Eugenia Crawford. Writing has been her form of release after overcoming and surviving life’s experiences with disappointment, sorrow, pain, suffering, fear and love one day at a time.

You might be wondering why this child is writing the story of her life down. There’s nothing interesting in a little “farm girl’s” life story or her view on how messed up the world is. You may be right. I’m not a big, wise person. However, I felt like I had a lot of things I needed to get off my chest, and also, when I was younger, I kind of wished I knew of someone similar to my age now, who was ready to speak about certain things with a freshly turned adult’s mind. I do believe that sometimes young adults need young adults to share their perspectives because we speak a similar, if not the same language.

This book reflects the transition in the thought process of the author from childhood to adulthood. It captures the emotions of everyday real-life situations. It will make you feel happy, sad, mad, and relieved. This book is a must read for parents with teenagers and is highly recommended for teenagers as well.

This is a story about a young girl. She went by the name of shorty, baby girl and other names that she had accumulated while she was on the streets. She was twenty-eight years old when she started to write this book. She thought that she was invisible, that nothing could touch her but she was wrong. She has two brothers that is older than her named Scott and Curtis. She was her mamma's baby girl. She was born in Greenville, SC but raised in Anderson, SC on March 11, 1982. She had been in the system her whole teenage years. She had been in the county jail don't know how many times. She has been to prison four times. She is HIV positive and Hepatitis C. She is also a drug recovery addict. She has been positive for ten years when she started this book. She found out that she was HIV positive when she was eighteen years old. She likes to write poetry, listen to music, read books and play sports especially with her brothers. She was a tom boy. She did what her brothers did. That young girl is me.
