The working group on Sustainable Consumption and Production, under the Nordic Council of Ministers requested consultants from Gaia to identify and write out best Nordic practice cases of sustainable consumption and production to be shared internationally within the UNEP SCP Clearinghouse. This report is the second part and covers in total 19 examples of two particular themes on: 1) Sustainable Tourism 2) Consumer Information The cases have also been added into the UNEP’s 10 Year Frame-work Program (10YFP) information platform, the SCP Clearinghouse. The objective is to enhance international cooperation in order to accelerate a shift towards sustainable consumption and production in developed and developing countries. The SCP Clearinghouse is a web-based information sharing tool, which can be used by different actors as an inspiration for advancing SCP worldwide.

Available online: https://pub.norden.org/temanord2022-563/ An increasing number of non-state actors are taking steps towards and beyond carbon neutrality and making claims about their contribution to global climate action. The voluntary use of carbon credits is one way to support more, earlier and faster climate action than what would be possible with own emission reductions alone, if high environmental and social integrity is ensured. The Nordic Dialogue on Voluntary Compensation brought together Nordic stakeholders to co-create guidance for the robust voluntary use of carbon credits in line with the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Agenda. This report summarises Nordic perspectives on best practice for the voluntary use of carbon credits and related claims, and recommendations for further Nordic cooperation in this field.

One of the best ways to improve collective knowledge and practice is through sharing experiences and knowledge between different stakeholders. The idea for the current monograph followed such an approach. The monograph presents six best practice examples from six of the project’s Pilot Action Regions (PAR). It is one of the deliverables of the GreenRisk4ALPs project funded by the EU Interreg Alpine Space program. The project aims to develop decision support tools supporting risk-based protective forest management in the Alpine Space. All main outputs of the project have been tested, improved and operationally applied in the PARs. The monograph is primarily intended for forestry experts, decision-makers at all levels of decision-making and other professionals.

This book contains the refereed proceedings of the Second Scandinavian Conference on Information Systems (SCIS), held in Turku, Finland, in August 2011. Inspired by the fact that Turku is the cultural capital of Europe in 2011, SCIS invited contributions that address the cultural impact of the latest technologies, e.g., social software, or that target cross-cultural issues of the IT profession itself. The resulting selection of papers in this volume reflects these topics. Before the COVID-19 pandemic forced a lockdown on the industry, tourism was one of the fastest growing industries in the world economy, with an important contribution to job creation, export revenue and domestic value added. While the pandemic has eroded infrastructures and innovative capacities, it has also made the need for new approaches and innovation more pressing. This report is an exploration of Nordic policies and practice with regard to monitoring the environmental, social and economic impact of tourism. It highlights expertise and best practices that already exist and makes observations and recommendations on how the Nordic countries can indeed “build back better” to create more sustainable and regenerative travel and tourism industries.
